I can still click and drag across text and copy it, but I’m not seeing the blue highlight when I do so. Do I have to kick something in Settings?
I had the same thing happen to me. The text is still highlighted (you can copy and paste it), but you’re not 100% sure of what you’ve got highlighted.
Happened to me one time a couple of days ago. I closed and re-started Chrome and it was back to normal.
What settings? Browser settings? You haven’t told us what browser you’re using.
Did you try highlighting text on other websites?
I had the same problem yesterday, it disappeared when I rebooted my system and it is now back to normal.
Some browsers work better with a given site than others, that’s why I keep IE11, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Any time your browser seems to be having glitches at a given site, try one of the others.
What you are describing sounds like a CSS problem–the highlight color got changed to the same color as the main color. Have there been any attempts at working on the style?
I guess it could also be a bug in Chrome that does this when it doesn’t load the CSS correctly. I have noticed weird transient effects that happen after an update, but go away after a restart. But not this particular one: usually it’s something to do with an extension acting funny.
