El Caminito del Rey (“The King’s Little Pathway”) is a hiking trail in Spain. Apparently, it was originally built so workers could access a remote hydroelectric dam, and was completed in 1905. See here for more detail, plenty of photos, and a couple of videos of people walking the pathway.
Problem was, that they built the pathway out of concrete and steel, and it clings to the cliffsides. In some places, the concrete has fallen away, leaving hikers to negotiate the remaining steel rails. The whole thing looks incredibly rickety and risky, which is probably why it attracts thrillseekers.
Has anybody here ever hiked El Caminito del Rey?
