I’ve been working on it since 6:30, but I can’t pin it down…
Here is the question:
This Week’s Challenge: An opera-related challenge. Take the title Il Trovatore by Verdi. Drop one letter. Rearrange the remaining 10 letters to spell two synonyms. What are they?
Now’s as good a time as any to ask if anybody ever understands what Shortz means when he says a good way to solve anagrams is to write the letters out in a pyramid. I’ve tried this an it never seems to help, and I’m wondering if I’m doing it wrong.
I am very good at these puzzles. My wife and I listen every day at 9:45 and I am nearly 100% on everything.
Fortunately my wife doesn’t realize that it is a rebroadcast from 7:45.
