Anybody here has watched the anime “Aggretsuko” in Netflix?

I have… and I simply love it.

Style straight out of “Hello Kitty” (Sanryo, the company that brought the aforementioned diabetes-inducing feline is the producer of “Aggretsuko”)… and content that is anything but.

With a story full of satire towards the bleak world of your average low-level office worker/wage slave (and it is satire that goes straight to the jugular), combined with some memorable characters and a protagonist that turns on their head quite a few assumptions about what a “proper, polite” young Japanese woman (well, she’s a red panda, but you know what I mean) should be… well, I fell in love with this series.

Just 10 episodes, 15 minutes each, you can watch the whole thing in a lazy afternoon. It feels more like a movie, as a matter of fact.

There are also 100 one-minute sketches with the same characters (although the characterization of some of them is very different), used as interstitials for the Japanese TBS tv station in 2015-2016.

Soooo…anybody else has seen this Netflix series? What do you think?

Aggretsuko is awesome. I particularly love that the shyest, gentlest member of the Yoga Trio is the gorilla.

Yes! My friends just turned me on to this and I’ve just started watching.

The metal karaoke interjections are enough for me to fall in love  I’m only like 3 episodes in, tho.

Oooh, you have to watch the whole thing. It gets better!

“LIGHTNING, GRANT ME YOUR VENGEANCE…!”

Season 2 was announced yesterday at Anime Expo.
