Anybody know the name of...

this song? My hubby and I have been trying to figure it out for a week now, and have asked all our friends and relatives, to no avail.I thought I’d pose it to you all, since you always manage to help poor, addle-minded people like me out.

The Lyrics(the ones I know):

Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends,
We’re so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside.

There behind the glass, grows a real blade of grass,
Be careful as you pass,
Move along, move along.

Come inside , the show’s about to start-
Guaranteed to blow your head apart…

And thats all I can remember.I know I’ve heard this song lots and lots of times, but thye name and artist just escape me right now.Any ideas would be appreciated.
I am almost to the point of making a fool of myself and calling a radio station.Its goobers like me they get to sing and put it on the air…

Um, Emerson, Lake & Palmer. I liked their cover of William Blake’s “Jerusalem,” on the same album as the song you seek, but by the time they got to Aaron Copeland on “Works,” they’d run out of gas. Log onto www.allmusic.com for further info.

I had to go look it up - I couldn’t remember, either. It’s Emerson, Lake and Palmer and the lyrics are here.

Thank you, thank you!!!

I knew y’all could do it! :slight_smile:

It’s Emerson Lake & Palmer’s Karn Evil 9, first impression, part 2. Yes there are Karn Evil 9 first impression part 1, second impression, and third impression, but they are on the album. They’re all from the Brain Salad Surgery album, which I had on LP, way back when. Anyway, first impression, part 2 is the only part of that song that yo’ll hear on the radio.
