Anybody know what happened to the EARTH IS FLAT thread?

You remember the one - it went on for a gazillion pages. You know, the thread that made Phaedrus famous. It was sometime around late 1999, I believe.

Here is an aborted follow-up thread.

The original title was “The Earth is flat - I read it in the paper!” and was launched by some nutjob’s newspaper column.

Anybody remember this and/or know what happened to it? Did it die in one of the board upgrades? Anybody keep a personal copy that can be returned to the SDMB archives? I’ve looked at the Wayback Machine but couldn’t get into the message boards for 1999, of course.

Lost. Lost in the conversion from UBB to vB, I believe. We’d put it in the “archive” section of the UBB database, only to have vB ignore that section entirely, except to erase it, that is. There’s a bunch of good stuff that got lost then. Including a great thread called “Why Pray?”
