Anybody know where I can find canned laughter?

Okey dokey, we’re doing a skit for my theatre class, where we have to put a scene from Shakespeare’s “Midsummer’s Night Dream” to a modern theme. My group, being the slick sons of bitches we are, chose to spoof Friends. That settled, we want to have a laugh track during it, and I need to know if there’s anywhere I could download it, preferably free of cost.

I’m looking for cheesy-sounding laughter, and also the sympathetic “awwwwwwwww” sound. Anyone have any idea where I could find such a thing?

Just in case you can’t find one, try recording your own laugh track, that way you can put in that one guy who always laughs too damn loud

If you use Napster, you can find laugh tracks there. Search for “sound effects”, “sound effects laugh”, “laugh track”, etc.

So if you’re spoofing “Friends”, does that mean that after a certain number of peformances, it will become old, stale, lame, and boring???

You should also be able to pick up a SFX tape or CD from a music store. I’ve got one from there for pretty much the same reaon. You can even add applause when one of the characters makes an entrance.

You are into the dramatics aren’t you? How are you going to set it up…and who are you going to play?

Look in the “Humor” aisle at your grocery store.

When’s the show and can I watch?

Can’t help you with fonding noise, but I love MND.

Go to askJeeves.com / ask.com and search for “laughter wav” or “wav sound effects”, etc.

Lots available free

A couple I noticed right off-

Zoggie: Yes, indeed I do. The scene my group is doing is Act I, Scene 2, in which the low comedy characters are having their parts assigned to them, and deciding to meet in the woods.
I play Bottom, (cough one of the biggest parts cough), whom I shall represent through the Friends character of Joey. Fun fun fun.

Zenster: The only place I could find it was at Sam’s Club, next to the ten gallon jug of mayonnaise. Unfortunately, it was low-quality generic brand, and I didn’t want to buy in bulk.

Medea’s Child: Unfortunately, the performances are only open to the other members of the class, and are quite low key. However,

should you be free on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday this week, from 7:30 to 10 or so, I’m in my school’s production of “Twelfth Night”.
I’m out at Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel if you’re interested, and will be playing the part of the priest (cough one of the smallest parts cough).

Friday night you say?

If my beloved DRY would let me weasel on out phone call for Shakespeare I would love to.

How do I get tickets/where am I going/can I get my program signed by the cast?

yells loudly Le Sang! You wanna go see a play?

<Screams at medeas child>

SURE!!! WHEN?

Okey doke. It should be fun. E-mail me, and I’ll give you directions, and whatnot. Tix are bought on walk-in basis, so that shouldn’t be much of a problem. As for the cast-signing, well, I’ll see what I can do.

Oh, yeah, times. If you come on Friday night, then it’s gonna be at 7:30, out at my school. Again, just e-mail me for direciones.

Maybe the Scooby-Doo show could loan you some canned laughter? They sure used enough of it
