Anybody playing "Split Seconds"

Anybody playing “Split Seconds” yet, mainly interested in the PS3 version, seems interesting but is it worth buying?

nitpick: It’s Split/Second

The game looks very interesting, but seems like after you’ve played through the tracks a couple times it’ll lose all appeal. I played the demos for both this game and Blur and was severely disappointed by the demo for S/S (it was only one track, one car, whereas the Blur demo was a multiplayer demo with a few tracks and handful of cars to try out. Plus it was multiplayer).

There are only 11 tracks, and that worries me. Aside from that it looks like it’d be a lot of fun. A buddy of mine just got it, so I’ll talk to him about it later today and tell ya what his feedback is. So far I’m leaning more towards buying Blur over this, though, as it seems it might have a higher replay value (and the demo was oodles of fun)

So I talked to my buddy and he said that basically he loved the game at first, but at this point he basically feels he’d rather play more Burnout Revenge and Paradise. He said the rubber-banding is ludicrous, and sometimes he wins a race and feels like he hasn’t done anything different than when he lost the same race the previous time. And apparently they don’T restrict multiplayer by car types or anything, so people who’ve beaten the game and unlocked all the vastly superior cars (or just paid to unlock them) are basically given a huge advantage. He recommended I don’t buy it. Which is a shame cause it looks so darn pretty

Thanks for the feedback PopeJewish

No worries. I was talkin to another buddy who has both Blur and S/S and he said Blur is a bit more like Mario Kart, whereas S/S is a bit more like Burnout. They play differently. He had gripes with multiplayer on S/S (said there isn’t much reason to play it online, but with friends it’s fun) but said overall it was a pretty fun game.
