Anybody Remember Those Mniature Cameras?

When i was a ki, ads in the back of magazines advertise little cameras-they looked like miniature 35 mm SLR cameras. Except, they were about 2" by 1"and had a roll of film that resebled a thread spool.
I had one-but as I remember, I don’t think I ever got a set of prints. Has anyone ever actually taken decet pictures with these things?

I remember a miniature SLR that had interchangeable lenses, but took 110 cassette film… Pentax I think.

Ah. Here we go:

I think he’s referring to what’s known as hit cameras

HIT

Why they’re called that I have no idea.

IIRC you could get little cameras via Bazooka Joe. I had a different sort; the camera was really cubical in shape and the 126/127 cartridged snapped on the back. The ends of the film cassette were just “bare,” not enclosed in the camera. The pics were recognizable, nothing fantastic…but then, that was typical of 126/127 cameras.

I got one once. The film was really small but thick and STIFF!
I tried to develop it myself (Photography was a hobby for a while), but the film wouldn’t fit in my adjustable rack even when I pushed it as close as I could.

Minox-B
I still have mine.

Oh, you were talking about the ones that looked like 35mm.
Well, James Bond used mine.

Which one–Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, Craig, Niven, or…? :stuck_out_tongue:

As I recall, they sold for about $4.99-and came with two rolls of film. I think you had to mail the exposed film back to Japan, to be developed! I don’t recall ever seeing a photo from one of these things.
As a slight aside, i had a grand-aunt who was still using a kodak Box camera, in the early 1970’s!
