They just moved into my neighborhood and I’m thinking about moving from Time Warner (Spectrum) to AT&T Fiber.
I imagine they both have the same “spectacular” customer service, so that’s not really a deciding factor for me. What I’d like to know is if they have less disruptions than TWC.
Thanks for any and all input.
I’ve had it for a few months now. I haven’t had any disruptions that I’ve noticed. I never had Spectrum or Time Warner, so I can’t really compare the services, but I’ve been happy with it. The speed is pretty great, especially coming from a 20MB down/3MB-ish up service. With the Fiber, I pay for the 1000MB up and down. To be honest, when I test it, I generally get around 500MB down and around 800MB up, but I think I’d feel silly calling and complaining. It’s plenty fast enough for me.
I’ve had AT&T Gigabit for about 8 months, having moved from ComCast 50Mbs service. The ComCast service had been rock-solid for the past few years, no complaints.
I hate AT&T with the heat of 900 suns based on two decades of experience with them at various points. Without fail, the people on the phone are incredibly helpful and competent and professional, and I really believe that they believe they are accomplishing what they are promising, but it ALWAYS takes at least two phone calls and/or trips for them to get it right (currently I have 25 feet of slack fiber sitting next to my house from the install; “someone will be by next week to trim that”).
They offered $70/month (all inclusive) for Gigabit, and I couldn’t resist, despite our history. In positive news:
[ul] [li]never an outage or disruption[/li][li] throughput of 720 Mbps down, 800 Mbps up [/li] the bill is exactly $70 [/ul]

Is that $70/mo a promo price? If so, what is the cost when the promo time period ends?
Is this the same thing as Uverse?
No. ATT Fiber is their gig speed service.
No, it is not a promotional price. Now, granted, the price is only guaranteed for a year, and there’s the usual fine print that they can change the price any ol’ time they want after that (“pricing subject to change”), but it isn’t an automatic change. In other words, for the time being, $70 is the “normal” price in my neighborhood.
One other thing I didn’t mention earlier: there’s no data cap (specifically stated).
Believe me, I desperately want to hate AT&T with all my might, but it’s a decent deal and, once installed, the service has been flawless.
Nice! Looks like Google Fiber has spooked AT&T Fiber into it. In my neck of the woods (well, when it gets to my specific street), it’s $80 and I wasn’t sure if there was a hike after a year.
Yes, and I’ve been regular ever since.
So you don’t need to take Metamucil?
