Anybody wanna read my short story?

I wrote it last year, and just happened across it again. Unfortunately, I don’t like it nearly as much now as I did when I first wrote it, which is a common phenomenon for me. Over time, I will come to hate anything I’ve created. But I’m bored, and feeling brave so…

Part One.
Part Two.

My name on that site (which I haven’t visited in eons before today) is Kate Schechter (from a Douglas Adams book). Figured I’d just link to that one since it looks a lot niftier than it would if I had just pasted it here.

Oh and some reviews  :

“*I’m hooked. Can’t wait to see what happens next!”

“Brilliant!”

"Right good read!

Be gentle, but be honest.

i liked it. i thought it was rather sweet, without being sappy. if you can picture a Twilight Zone episode as being “sweet”.

Thanks  Funny that you said that; I’ve been struggling to classify the thing, and the only thing I can ever come up with is “something a little Twilight Zonish”.

that’s actually a pretty high ranking, if you think about it. i’ve always thought the vintage Twilight Zone episodes were 'way up there in quality, plus the “things that make you sit back and think” category.

I read it and I liked it. I do vote for it being in the Twilight Zone category and I really like those type of stories

I mostly lurk, but I’ll come out of the woodwork long enough to say that I really liked your story. It gave me goosebumps at the end…
