This thread makes me wonder what happens if a person gets, say, three invites from three separate magnanimous Dopers. Are two of them wasted? Can they be transferred? Does the original inviter get it back after it expires?
Assuming the person doesn’t make 3 accounts, of course.

They can be transferred. One of my friends had a glitch that resulted in three invites being sent to the same person, and she forwarded the two extras to others, who were able to use them to create accounts, so they apparently don’t have to be used by the person whose name was put into the form originally.

That’s good to know. So if someone asks for an invite on this thread and doesn’t include his first and last names I can just sent him one and fill in any names I want, then they can adjust it. Right?
alterego or anyone else, do you know of an easy way to do this? I’m not sure what you mean by “redirect” but I have a ton of archived work emails on my HD that would be great to offload to gmail for the search function alone. I’m hoping it’s not a matter of forwarding everything- could I do it from outlook?
