Anybody want to do a tourney bracket with me (NCAA Basketball)?

Starts in a couple of hours. Good luck, everyone!

I’m playing it as though there will be few surprises. The strong teams seem very strong. Someone else may get on a role, but a high seed will end up on top.

It has begun.

It isn’t just anyone who could make so many bad choices so early. I’m almost proud of myself, in a really twisted way.

Well, I can pretty much write the East Rutherford Regional off, because Florida tanked and Charlotte ran out of time.

Looks like it’s shaping up to be a bad time to be a 4 or 5 seed. Syracuse, Maryland, Wake Forest and Florida haven’t played well today, and Florida got beat. If I was a 4 or 5 seed in the other two regions, I’d be worried.

The 5/12 match ups have traditionally been a good place to look for upsets.

FWIW I have been playing “the sheets” for over 20 years now. The first couple rounds aren’t very important, as long as your final 4 are still alive. It usually comes down to who has the most teams of the final 8. In the big pools I have played (over 1000 sheets), you will need at least 6 of the final 8 to even have a chance. With our small pool, I would think if you have 4 or 5 of the final 8, you will have a good chance. IMHO. Good luck hoopers

Here’s a live scoreboard:

Yeah, but Florida wasn’t one of mine. Thank goodness I didn’t have them going very far.

Stupid Wake decided to raise my blood pressure a bit with their inability to get past freaking VCU. What’s up with that? That would have messed up my bracket a bit.

Fortunately, everyone but Florida has come through for me so far.

Don’t let subscription worries keep you from staying til the end!

Remember, the grace period covers the Finals, so all can be still be included, regardless of subscription status.

So, how we doin’ so far?

I nearly endangered my marriage last night, pulling for Florida A&M. Nope, I hadn’t picked 'em, but it just would’ve been cool.

Hubby, the Kentuckian, didn’t think it was funny at all!

The first half of the #1 #1 vs #4 #16, iow, absolute top seed vs absolute bottom seed, was pretty close!

I know.

And jsgod was NOT happy about it!

Hopefully everybody will now SHUT UP about Gonzaga. “Ehh, they got too low a seed this year!” “Whine, they should be a higher seed!” “Watch out for the Zags, they’re going all the way!”

They lost last year (I think) as a 6 seed (I think) to Wyoming in the First Round. They lost THIS year as a 2 seed to Nevada – a 10 – in the Second Round.

Shut up about them already! They’ll have to wait 25 years to be a “Cinderella” again, because everyone has seen every pore of this whorish team for four years now. And they can’t be a favorite because they’re just not that good. They beat up on cupcakes all year, lose to good teams when they play them, and then, obviously, perform piss poorly in the Tournament.

Here’s hoping for a long Tournament drought from one of the most annoying teams out there.

First round is over!

Only 11 points separate first (Captain Weemba) from last (Mr Fabulous)

Let’s see what Round 2 (16 games, 32 teams) brings us…

I don’t think they have all the numbers added up yet. They show me 31 on one count, then 23 in the SD group. Oh well, doesn’t matter much at this point. I’m glad the top seeds are getting picked off, I don’t have a top seed in the final four.

Good lord today was painful. I lost three picks today, and two of them I had in the championship which means I can’t get any points for the Final Four or the championship game, and I can only get half the potential points in the Elite Eight. Somebody find me a hole to crawl into.

Half of the second round is over, already! Moves pretty fast, y’all.
Stanford and Gonzaga really messed up my Sweet Sixteen.

76-75
shit

What an absolutely perfect day.

This is really going to be up for grabs this year, as long as Duke doens’t win it all.

My two teams in the final are out now. Oh well, just another lesson in humilation.
