So the bracket is going to be announced in just under 7 hours. Is your team going to make it in? Where do you think they’re going to be seeded?
If anyone remembers people tearing my a new one last year, it was because I think I’m the only Duke fan on the boards. The big question for me is can the rest of the team pick up the slack when Redick eventually has one of his brutal games. Losing Dockery really hurt them and I just don’t know if they can overcome a bad shooting game by Redick unfortuantely. If they beat Georgia Tech today, I think they strongly have to be considered for a 1 seed with the loss by Wake Forest in the ACC tournament. If they lose I think Oklahoma State might grab the 4th 1 seed if they can win today.
I also created a pick 'em pool over on Yahoo for anyone who’s interested.

And in my mind, there’s no point in even trying to guess who’s going to win the whole thing without seeing the bracket first. I’ll wait until I predict my winner.
My teams are Oregon (we’re not going to talk about that) and Nevada. Nevada lost the first game of the WAC tournament but they still have like 24 or 25 wins. I predict between an 8 and a 10 seed for them. I really hope they either get lower or higher than that though, because I would hate to see them face a 1 or a 2 in the second round.
CBS stated the committee tries to place teams close to ‘home.’ They didn’t just do that with the #1s, although there were some obvious exceptions. If they didn’t care about that, Illinois would be playing in Syracuse, since the top team overall us usually put in the East.
Um, huh? When did they ever decide to put the top seed in the east? Even before the “pod” system and the NCAA preference towards regionalization they have always put the top #1 in the region closest to home. The only reason the “east” would seem to have the top overall seed would be cause for a long time the east always had the best teams (UConn, Duke, UNC, Georgetown, etc.).
Perhaps because they are the #1 team? Or perhaps you think it unfair for a #1 to play a #16 too…
Not that Duke, UNC and Wake haven’t been frequently helped by Charolette and Raliegh/Durham placements in years past either…
Yep, Georgia Tech drew a #5 seed in a not-so-easy bracket. Looks like our road to St. Louis goes through George Washington, Louisville, Washington, and either Wake or Gonzaga. Not an easy trip, but doable.
Seems like Florida should be in that club. Didn’t they lose to Manhattan last year (probably the college and not the ex-Mod, but who knows for sure)?
I’m going to get a piece of this and kick all your butts. Because I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, without all of the data to distract me I’m a lock, baby.
I’m in. I didn’t jump on the dark horse bandwagon like I normally do, so hopefully I won’t bite the dust early my surprise team doesn’t surprise anybody.
