Because I do. It used to be a nice place that had all my subscriptions together and all of my recommended videos. Now it’s laid out like Facebook, telling me what every single move anyone I’ve subscribed to makes. I’ve even explicitly disabled that on my subscription options.
Now, if this were something that had just come out, it wouldn’t dislike it so much. But it came out a while back, and I complained and switched back. But now they’ve forcibly changed it to the now useless page.
And, yes, I reported my displeasure to YouTube. I even reported the lack of honoring my options a bug. I’m still considering just removing all my subscriptions so I won’t get useless crap. At the very least, I’m not going directly to youtube.com anymore. At least the subscriptions link from the dropdown is still laid out correctly.
YouTube channels are like TV channels. I don’t give crap what show the owner of NBC likes, or what he comments on an ABC show. They aren’t my Facebook buddies. I subscribed to their channel, not to their lives.
Honestly, does anyone think the new layout is better? Google’s always been good at anticipating what its users want, but this just seems stupid.
Actually, what I miss are the recommended videos. They still exist, but they’ve decreased the number significantly, and now they are back to not finding shows that are anywhere near what I liked. Sure, they found those before, but there were good ones in the mix.
I can just use the subscriptions page and get the old way of handling that, but I cannot get the old Recommended Videos page.
