Anyone else feel an overwhelming urge to dive into any thread that has been locked

I cant help it. threads that i would normally ignore suddenly become the most interesting things int eh world as soon as they get locked.
its like a house with ‘POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS’ writen on it’

anyone else? or am i all alone?

Weird. I could have sworn that I posted in this thread. At any rate, as I said (I think), the view numbers speak for themselves. They are always high on those threads.

Me too. I don’t know why. Maybe because I just have ( ) to see why it was locked.

Sure, it’s like a car crash. Not many folks can resist the impulse to do a little rubbernecking.

It sometimes feels like a little game to go into a thread, look around, think that there is a high chance that it will be closed, and then post something before the gate is locked.

Yup. Gotta see why it was locked (unless it’s obvious, like a double thread in the same forum.)

I always secretly hope that someone has said something so completely off the wall, or offensive, or abusive that it got someone banned.
It almost alsways is just some boring “duplicate threat” or “wrong forum” reason…

YES

Yes, me too. But I suspect that the really juicy reply that got it locked has been deleted by the offending  mod.
Peace,
mangeorge

yah, but some of those “wrong forum” ones can be really interesting.

Since this thread is arguably in the wrong forum (it should probably be in MPSIMS, or perhaps IMHO, since it’s sort of a poll) there’s a chance it will be locked.

Then someone could start a meta-thread: Anyone else feel an overwhelming urge to dive into any thread about the urge to read locked threads that has itself been locked?

But since threads about locked threads almost always end up locked, we’d be able to make a meta meta-thread, Anyone else feel an overwhelming urge to dive into any thread about the urge to read threads about threads where…um, threads about locked threads that…erm ::counts on his fingers::

Okay, lemme start over. thread about the urge to read threads about threads about…um, threads about threads?

Ow.

Things are weird today. I’m pretty sure manhattan deleted a duplicate of this thread with an invitation via e-mail for Qis to repost in a different forum. I’ll close this one.
