I agree with you that this thread reminds me that many people actually have the where with-all to keep a freakin’ list of posters that have slighted them. I can’t keep up with any posters names or posting histories unless they are some pretty impressive fucking posters. I mean, I must like your posting content a whole hell of a lot if I am going to keep tabs on your posting history even a lil’ bit. The idea that I can get my shit together enough to keep memory of every poster who posted some stupid shit or some rude shit? Man, no.

Cheri, you shouldn’t apologize because you did absolutely nothing wrong. You showed excellent stewardship and care and diligence in collecting thousands of dollars and turning those into sympathy gifts and donations for others. You spent untold hours of your personal time, as well as postage, shipping, and other fees, and never once complained nor asked for a cent in compensation. You spent untold hours on the phone cheering people up and helping them, shopping for gifts, taking your own vacation time IIRC to try to help others out - others which sadly very often were just God damned unappreciative of you. You went so far beyond the call of duty that I don’t even have a word to describe it.
We may have discussed in a group and voted on what to do with the donations, but the ultimate authority was mine. I already explained everything that needed explaining in this thread on our behalf; the metaphorical buck stops with me in this matter.

I have nothing to do with any of this and had no idea 99% of it was happening. But I have to say, just from reading this thread and the links, Una is not coming off well at all. I agreed with DSeid here that she is seeming like someone who is delusional, has a persecution complex and can’t apologize.
Is there an answer to this? DSeid seems to have characterized the previous exchanges fairly accurately, and “pond scum” doesn’t even really rise much past the level of “fuck you” in classic Pit flaming. Hardly worth holding a grudge over…

I’m not sure we’re reading the same thread. My understanding of the sequence is this:
She posted something irrelevant and somewhat insensitive in a thread where she hadn’t even read the OP.
Then he called her on it.
Then she accused him of a “campaign” against her in retaliation for an encounter they had ages ago.
Then when asked for evidence of said campaign, she said, “Well, he called me this really mild name once.”
Then when asked for further evidence that this is actually a campaign of ill-treatment rather than a one-off name-calling, she has not responded in any way.
In other words, she’s made a pretty damn ugly accusation that she can’t back up. And that generally deserves an apology. If the roles were reversed I’m fairly certain she’d be demanding an apology, so why shouldn’t the OP?

I think it’s fair to say that Una’s problem, to the extent she has one, is that she’s like that lady you know from work who has a need for drama.
