Anyone Else Grooving On The New Of Montreal Album?

I’m loving it. The first time I heard it, I wasn’t impressed, but upon repeated listens, I’m pretty sure it’s their best yet. It is definitely going to divide their fan base even more than Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer did.

I am also having a very hard time picking a favorite track. It is one of the rare albums (these days, anyway) that works best as a whole. Subdividing it in any way seems so wrong, somehow.

If forced to choose a favorite track, it would have to be Triphallus, to Punctuate! or Plastis Wafers.

Anyone else? Thoughts? Love? Hate? Indifferent?

The most recent Of Montreal album I own is Aldhils Arboretum. It’s been a while since I hung out with people who were heavily into indie pop and influenced me to branch out in my musical tastes. I’ll have to check out the new stuff. Thanks for the reminder.
