Anyone else here habitually skip breakfast?

I stopped breakfasting in high school. I just got sick of some combination of toast-cereal-eggs-bacon. Maybe if breakfast food was more diverse, I would have hung on.

My no-breakfast habit became cemented in college when I was often sleep deprived and had no time between shower/getting dressed and out-the-door. I’ve been pretty much the same way ever since.

I’ve never made a practice of eating breakfast. The only times I are when it occurs socially, which means we’re out to eat. That I can enjoy, but I have no desire to do it on my own.

Lunch is my favorite meal of the day. I love lunch.

Breakfast for me is two cups of tea and half a dozen cigarettes.
Probably not the healthiest way to start the day…

Same as OP. No desire for food early. I usually don’t eat lunch either. First meal is usually at about 5:30 pm although I’ll have an occasional snack during the day (maybe a total of a handfull of peanuts or pretzels).

I never used to eat breakfast, but for the last 6 months I have been on grounds that I want to loose weight and aparently I have to eat breakfast to achieve this. Thus far it’s not working …

I rarely eat breakfast. Normally I have a meal around noon. Sometimes I’ll have a small snack in the evenings but for the most part it’s only one meal a day. If I get really busy or have a lot going on I have a tendency to forget to eat.

I used to skip it when I was a student. More sleeping time, plus I had that “can’t eat when first wake up” thing that many people are reporting.

When I had my first day job, I started taking a peanut butter & jam sandwich to work for when i got hungry at 11am. That gradually worked backwards to 10am, 9am, and now I eat breakfast at 8am, and get thrown for a loop when daylight savings makes me get up earlier. I revert to the sandwich at work trick until i adjust.

I usually eat three times a day, but not breakfast, it’s more like lunch, dinner and midnight-top of the morning type thing. I’m a night owl and just feel more comfortable that way. Also I can’t eat anything sweet as the first thing in the day.

What is breakfast?

If I eat breakfast- I end up eating all day.

I’m another one that can’t eat anything most mornings. I usually start getting hungry about 11 am and have lunch at 11:30. I occasionally eat breakfast on the weekends, but it’s usually around 11 am still, thus pushing back lunch until about 3 pm and dinner until about 8 pm or so.

Breakfast is not diverse???

I can make muffins, waffles, pancakes, scones, biscuits, crepes and crumpets, and that’s the quick breads.

I can make omelettes, fried eggs, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, quiche, souffle, poached eggs, sweet puffed omelettes and more, and that’s just eggs.

I can make toast, cinnamon rolls, croissants, crumb cake, any variety of coffee cakes and danishes, and that’s just the more invovled breads.

Cereals – porridge, oatmeal, any of a billion varieties of mass-marketed cereals, bran, granola, cocoa wheats, cream of wheat, cream of rice, and lovely mixed hot grains, and that’s all I can think of right now!

Then there’s bacon…and sausages…and other ways to cook ham…and steak (yes, for breakfast)…

I have about a billion recipes. Need any?

I loves me some good breakfast!

This thread is so reassuring. Chalk me up as another one whose appetite is nil in the morning. I’m just plain not hungry, and nothing seems to jump start it. Just about the only exceptions are occassional weekends and on vacation. Even then anything sweet is actively repellent. Forget doughnuts, waffles with syrup, etc. (I put Tabasco on eggs, potatoes, french toast, you name it. Yep, weird.)

A morning Diet Pepsi and I’m good to go.

I usually eat a fairly light lunch, early–salad w/ tons of veggies, some cheese, whatever, preferably–because a heavy meal makes me sleepy. Then a moderate dinner, again early. Eating late may be fashionable but it sits in my stomach like lead.

It’s a good thing I live alone.

Food in the morning? Urk. No can do. I generally start to be able to contemplate food around 10:30 or 11:00am, and then it’s never normal breakfast food. Usually it’s something carb-laden - pasta or rice - or leftovers on occasion. I like breakfasty food in restaurants, usually for lunch or dinner.

On the other hand, if I am on vacation, staying at a hotel, for some reason I cannot get food into me fast enough. I wake up like a baby bird, mouth open and chirping for breakfast.
