Anyone else here habitually skip breakfast?

I know they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I get by without it. For two reasons:

I’m not hungry right after I wake up.

I simply can’t tolerate eating food during breakfast time. It gives me an upset stomach.

Two or three hours after waking then I work up an appetite for a lunch of even a “brunch”. But not before.

Any other rebellious people skip breakfast?

I never eat breakfast. I usuallt don’t eat lunch, either, but I do eat when I get home from school at 2:30.

I skipped breakfast for about 30 years. In recent years I’ve discovered that I can’t eat much for lunch without going to zombie-land, so I’ve adopted the habit of eating a piece of fruit (pear, nectarine, plum, etc) with the morning coffee.

I never eat breakfast. The thought of food when I first wake up is almost nauseating.

I usually don’t get hungry until around 3 pm, and have dinner around 5. Yeah, I know it’s bad to only eat one meal a day, but that’s the way it works for me.

Me too. The thought of food, especially “breakfast food”, first thing in the morning makes me feel ill. I usually eat my first food around noon. I eat dinner at 7-8 pm. Usually it’s a smallish lunch and a larger dinner but I don’t require a whole lot of food to keep going.

I don’t eat breakfast in general, and when I do, it throws off my eating schedule. Best to avoid it.

I usually wake up around 830am but I don’t eat until about 4pm. I really have no explanation other than I’m not hungry until 4pm.

I also don’t eat breakfast. Stopped doing it about 15 years ago. In fact I generally only eat once a day at around 4pm.

I do wonder if I’d have more energy if I ate more. I assume it’s true but I haven’t gotten around to doing that yet.

I almost never eat breakfast. I just don’t feel like eating right after I wake up, and I’ve noticed that if I do eat breakfast I feel a lot hungrier during the time between breakfast and lunch.

If you want to eat a morning meal but have no appetite, try a glass of juice when you wake up. It’s easy enough to stomach and should kick-start your appetite–enough to eat a late breakfast or a snack at work.

Myself, I’m one of those people who wakes and runs to the kitchen to feed my growling, demanding stomach. I can’t stand missing breakfast (which makes for some awkward moments if I spend the night at someone’s place: “uhh, do you have any cereal I can eat?”)

Surviving on one meal a day?

Sometimes I’ll do a Ranger breakfast (candy bar and a soda), but that’s usually it unless someone’s going to buy/make it for me.

Count me in as another one that usually does one meal a day, sometimes one every two days. Some people find it hard to believe that you can forget to eat. I know, I know, I’m working on it.

I never eat breakfast, same reasons as the OP.

I only eat breakfast in the winter. From December to February i normally pick up a tub of porridge on my way in to work.

For the rest of the year i skip it - i just don’t feel “hungry” in the mornings.

I always have a glass of orange juice or milk though

Just the thought of food when I wake up is enough to send my stomach into revolt.

I go to bed at the time most are going to work, get up around the time most kids get out of school, go to work about the time most eat dinner, get off work around the time your paper-delivery guy is getting up, and that’s when I eat my one and only meal a day, on the days I work (I work about 4 nights a week).

On the days I’m off work, however, I usually eat dinner around 7-8 PM with my family, and nibble on stuff for the rest of the night till I go to bed.

I hadn’t eaten breakfast for about 10 years - like a lot of the other posters, just the thought of food first thing made me feel sick. Back in August though, I got a dog. First thing I do in the morning is walk her, and by the time I get back, I’m starving and so is she. So we both have a bowl of cereal

I skip breakfast on workdays. On the weekends I’ll be more likely to eat breakfast but then I’ll skip lunch to compensate. Three “full” meals a day is way too much food.

I don’t eat breakfast on weekdays either - simply because I can’t. My gag reflex is ultra sensitive in the mornings so if anything goes in, it’ll come right back out. Don’t get me wrong though, I love the idea of eating a hearty breakfast before getting the day started, but it’ll never happen. On weekends I have a light one, though.

I just don’t have the time in the morning to eat breakfast. I have tried eating on the go, taking Pop tarts™ or something with me, but I’m still just as hungry by mid-morning.

On the weekends, however, I will pour some cereal or sometimes go to my mom and dad’s house and have a “home-cooked” breakfast there. During the week I also eat cereal, but usually in the afternoon after I get home from work.

I’d rather skip lunch. I need the breakfast for the physical work I do.

A few breaks during the day with some fruit, trail mix, or what have you is nice.

When I do do lunch, it’s usually a late lunch which then makes supper late and/or small.

My thoughts exactly. If I ate the daily recommended amount of food per day, I’d be in constant need of a longer belt and a nap. A can of Coke is my breakfast. I usually eat twice a day.
