Anyone else up way too early cuz of the clocks going back an hour?

I got up at 9:20. I thought it was 10:20 (which is kinda early by itself) because I forgot to change the clock when I went to bed. I’ve not been up at this time of day on a weekend in ages.

But hey, more time to do fun stuff before I settle into chores!

From the linked article:

Nice “rhyme”

Hehe

I guess they had a hard time finding a word that rhymed with “forward.”

Are you sure he didn’t just have eleven fingers, and looked like Nigel Tufnel?

Yeah I did get up early today, exactly one hour early.

Too bad in a few weeks it will be dark out before we head home from work. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Fell asleep about 3, woke up about 9, couldn’t fall sound asleep again.

Yeah, I was up at 5:00am, too, and screwing up vBcode while waiting for coffee to materialize.

Count me among the; I totally forgot.

Not only that, I got the Mr up early and hustled out the door and off to work before I’d figured it out!

When I finally figured it out I laughed out loud.

No, I’m up way too late because of the clocks going forward an hour.

Was half an hour late for work but that’s cool where I am; I’ll just leave half an hour late.

Yup, woke up at 6:30 instead of the planned 7:30. And to think I was worried about getting up in time for church after going to bed late the second day in a row. Stupid internal clock . . .

Sunset comes earlier too, which I don’t appreciate one bit. I’m now living in a suburb of Washington DC with perhaps the highest crime rate of all the cities I’ve lived in so far. Not one week goes by without hearing of a violent crime having occurred within a few blocks of some of my favorite daytime haunts. When I stayed in the office past 8 p.m. last night, I knew it would be dangerous to walk or bike back to my apartment that night, so I got comfortable in a lounge chair and slept through the night in the office.

To answer the poll, then, this morning I woke up at 6:30 a.m., which is about the time I would normally have woken up to my alarm. I was surprised at first that my body clock had adjusted to the time change that fast and woken me up without the need for my usual alarm. On the other hand, an early rising was not completely unexpected despite my having gone to bed around 2 a.m. last night, since a lounge chair is nowhere near as comfortable as a regular bed for sleeping purposes.

My kids were up at 5:30 A.M.

I was up at 5:30 AM yesterday morning. I thought I was doing well to take advantage of an extra hour and could get more things done, but about mid-morning I got sleepy again and took a nap.

We don’t spring up, fall down here. It’s still confusing, though, because the whole darn world resets around us. TV shows are on later, and travel plans are botched.

When I started my current job 3 years ago, I got up at 7:00 every morning. When the end of Daylight Savings Time rolled around, I suddenly found myself getting up at 6:00 and being unable to go back to sleep. After a couple of weeks of this, I finally decided to go with the flow. Now I get up at 6:00 and get to work an hour early, which has the nice side benefit of letting me leave for work while it is still light out,

The following April I had the chance to reset my schedule with the advent of Daylight Savings Time, but I chose to continue getting up at 6:00 (it’s easier for me to force myself to get up an hour early than to stay in bed an hour later).

Of course, next October I found myself getting up at 5:00 after the time changed back. Getting up that early was just too darn ridiculous, however, so I “reset” my clock by simply making sure I stayed up late enough the night before. Which, of course, I could have done in the first palce, but I liked the thought of being able to leave every day at 4:00 PM…
