When I went to bed, I figured I’d be waking up around 7:30. But I actually woke up around 6:30. It’s 6:55 now. Something strange happened to my sleep schedule.

The second paragraph was supposed to be a sort of hint that I knew what happened.
Was up at 4:00. It isn’t too uncommon for me to be up around 5, but I prefer 6:30 or so. 5 isn’t too bad, but due to the clock change it was 4 today. I surfed a little and then went back to bed. Slept until about 7 which was good.
I hate hate hate hate DST. No matter if we’re going forward or going back, it ruins my ability to sleep for the next 10 days. As usual, my body had no idea there was a time change, and I woke up an hour earlier than I expected to, yet it felt like the usual time.
The funny thing is when I went to sleep last night, I wasn’t entirely sure if it was the first or second 1:30AM…
I think knowing it’s an “extra” hour of sleep made me sleep in, and I rarely do that. I woke up at the usual time, let the dog out, had a pee too, and went back to bed.
But if I lie in bed too long, it starts to hurt my back. I’m getting old.
The hubby and I got in sort of late last night, since the 9YO was at a sleep-over, and we went out to dinner after we got done handing out Halloween candy.
As such, I was really too wiped (and a little tipsy from my second glass of wine) to bother changing my alarm clock, which is the only clock in the bedroom.
I woke at 6AM, having to use the bathroom (not unusual for me at all), and after I crawled back into bed (it is Sunday, after all!), was delighted to remember DST, and realize it wasn’t 6AM, but only 5AM! Yay! Back to sleep for another two and a half hours!
I woke up at 1pm instead of 2pm. Meh.
