Anyone else a little baffled by the spate of Republican vs. Democrat, Liberal vs. Conservative threads erupting like boils all over the board? You try to have a little go at Great Debates (as I am wont to do), and it degenerates in “Ya boo sucks to you Liberals!” “Bush lies! Bush lies!”

Give it a rest already!

I admit I haven’t taken the time to properly accquaint myself with the issues hurled around like so many rag dolls, and (best teacher voice) it’s all very well you kids engaging in heated political debate. But every time? Get’s dull.

So, if someone could fill me in on whatever it is I’m missing that makes these the burning issues of the world, I’d be grateful.

Some people have a legitimate axe to grind (in their minds, anyways), and will take most any opportunity to do so. Others are major ass holes who are extremely full of themselves to the point of being jerks. So, take your pick.

Although, I must defend GD in principle and certain debaters who actually try to persuade with logical argument. They are still there. And the concept of GD is fantastic.

Well, my ultra-conservative dad uses “liberal” as a euphemism for anyone or anything he doesn’t agree with.

I’d imagine a lot of people are like that. On both sides of the fence.
