Anyone else's Yahoo! Mail account not receiving mail?

My Yahoo Mail account has stopped receiving mail. I realized it after talking to two people today who said they sent me e-mails, and then I tested it by sending myself an e-mail (I can still send, I know this for sure). I have no idea when the problem started, but the last message in my in-box is dated 9/13.

Anyone else having a problem with their Yahoo Mail?

Just sent a test msg to my yahoo account, it got there fine.

Are you on the beta version of the new user interface? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you’re likely not.

Oh, and you’ve checked your bulk mail folder in case they got classified as spam, right?

No, I’m not using the beta interface. I’m using Yahoo Mail Plus.

Yes, I checked my bulk mail folder. It’s empty. It it weren’t, it would mean that I was getting mail.

Maybe it’s just a Plus problem…?

I only wish my yahoo email wasn’t receiving! All I use it for is a “spam dump” anyway, but the amount of junk that shows up in there, half of them not even addressed to me, amazes me.

Mine’s working. You’re not over your mailbox size limit, are you?

I’m 99% sure that the problem isn’t on my end. I’m computer literate, I document software for a living, I’ve been using Yahoo Mail for the past 8 years, etc. Yahoo’s busted. I don’t know whether any other Plus accounts are having problems … maybe it’s something with the particular server I’m on (f503). I sent them an e-mail, with an alternate address in the “how can we contact you” field.

It’s frustrating.

I was half-expecting a slew of “yeah, I can’t get e-mail either” replies – or even thinking someone else would have started this thread before me – but I guess that’s not the case. (Not that I was hoping thousands of people were suddenly not getting e-mail, just that if it were system-wide Yahoo would definitely know about and be working on it.) Oh well. Knowing that it isn’t all of Yahoo Mail is something, even if I’m not quite sure what.

Do you have Plus, or a free account?

I’m only using 1% of 2GB. I never even get close to my storage limit.

I have Yahoo Plus, and I just sent a test message to myself. No problem.

Thanks for the info.

Oh well, while Yahoo straightens itself out at least I have 3 other e-mail addresses I can use.

Misnomer
My Yahoo E-Mail is up and running also.

Ok, now you guys are just rubbing it in.

I have the freebie account.

I had a problem with mine once where some e-mails were taking days to show up, and also I wasn’t getting my alerts to my phone; I e-mailed them and it was fixed within a day.

One bump, now that it’s a weekday.

Does anyone work for Yahoo, or know if they have a “secret” support message board that isn’t available from their help pages or something? As I mentioned, I sent them an e-mail (with an alternate address in the “how can we contact you” field) on Saturday, but haven’t gotten a reply yet. This is really starting to bug me.

I like the Yahoo Mail service a lot (enough to pay for Plus, obviously), and I’d love to try out the beta interface (I was one of the first to try the current interface), but not while I’m having this problem. Worst case I’ll start over with a new Yahoo address, but I’d really rather not. :frowning:

All I’ve done so far in this thread is bitch about my broken e-mail, so I figured I’d post that I found a work-around: the Plus account I have lets me forward my Yahoo mail to a POP address, and it works! Apparently, the breakdown happens somewhere between Yahoo receiving the e-mail and it actually getting delivered to my mailbox. (It’s weird: I tried to set up an auto-reply message telling folks that I wasn’t getting my mail, but even that didn’t work. I didn’t expect the forwarding to work after that, but I’m glad it did!)

<phew>

I have a buttload of accounts and mailing lists and things “out there” that use my Yahoo address, and og only knows what kinds of messages I’d be missing while my regular mailbox isn’t working (and, my birthday is in two days and I want all of my e-cards, dammit! ;)). I have a feeling this means that all of my spam will also get delivered to the POP address without being filtered to the Bulk Mail folder, but oh well … all mail is better than no mail!

So, I’m still a little annoyed because something is still broken, but at least I can get mail at that address again.
