Yes.
No.
I’ve never even heard of FLCL. Does it stand for something?
Haj
maybe, what is it? i watch lots of stuff.
Does it stand for something? That’s the real question, isn’t it?
Yeah, I’ve seen the whole thing, and… well… okay, sure, a bit surreal thanks to hidden information, but, honestly, at the end, a bit conventional. I kind of like Excel Saga better for pure weirdness.
Google brought up this site.
No, it doesn’t stand for anything, but the reverse-phonetic pronunciation of the English letter sounds in Japanese comes out something like “Furi-Kuri,” the explanation of which seems to dance around the viewer over the course of the series.
It’s very strange, but is hilariously funny and has a cool sound track.
yeah but excel saga is weirdness for weirdness’s sake, its strange but you don’t have to think about it, if something weird happens you can assume it was just there to be funny, not to mean anything.
No.
Okay, I’ve caught a few episodes of it, and while -I- like it, my anime buddies don’t. Could someone spoiler it for me, as it looks like I’m never gonna actually see any of the later eps?
Grunge hamster.
Revenge lobster.
I’ve seen the first four. Pretty cool. I’m not fanatical about it like some of my friends, though…
Seen the entire series in fan subs. My kids and I consider it to be one of the best pieces of Japanese Animation ever. The use of music is incredible. The Pillows rock!
Spoil! Spoil spoil spoil!
Or I’ll release the puchus!
I have seen the first couple episodes - very nice music, and an original giant robot theme. Its the third weirdest anime I have ever seen; Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemi beat it out.
End of Evangelion: For when crack isn’t enough.
FLCL: For when End of Evangelion isn’t enough.
Heh. I just saw End of Evangelion today. My brain hurts. FLCL is more convoluted? Oy.:smack:
I’ve had it sitting around for almost 2 years now without ever getting around to watching it. I really should, one of these days. :o
FLCL is by Gainax, who made Evangelion.
Yes, it is more convoluted. However, it is also amazingly more prosaic.
Watched the final episode(s) of Excel tonight. Gotta love 'em.
Now, spill guts on FLCL!
