progressively over the last coupla months its become harder to get a connect and sustain it . . that was with a win95 16RAM box 33K modem
now im on a win98/2nd 96RAM box v90/dsl modem and its worse; i not only can rarely get online; but cant sustain a connection for more than a few minutes
ive reloaded all my drivers, checked for windows/compaq upgrades; disabled everything in ms config . . nothing helps
???
when i can connect i get on at anywhere from 19800 to 50000
bauds . . transfer rates of 200bps to 50000bps
my cursor/screen freezes up after a few clicks of surfing; sometimes it lets go . .most of the time i get disconnected after that happens
MSN absolutely bites monkey dick, the only thing that can make AOHell look good by comparison, best thing is uninstall it (not easily done, be careful) and find a good ISP.
If anyone approaches me with an offer to join MSN, my answer will be to run screaming in the opposite direction.
I’d agree with Jomo. The only thing more frustrating than constantly getting booted off MSN was the interminable phone menu when calling for customer support. Even after learning the menu sequence, it would take at least 10-15 minutes to get a live person on the phone. I recently switched and would advise other MSNers to do the same.
I’m in metro Atlanta, and I have problems extremely rarely. Usually, logging off and using a different access number helps a lot for me. I actually like msn-it’s far better than the AOL I used before, it does what I want, and the only serious problems I have are when I travel for work and end up in a town with only one number.
