Actually I don’t think it’s bogus or a coincidence at all. She somehow knew of this Zenaida person, including her full name, make of car and her kid’s names, and threw her name to the cops as her make-believe nanny.
Are you saying you wouldn’t sue if someone threw your name around for months as an alleged kidnapper/baby-killer?
Hahahhaha! You guys… Brilliant timing! (Seriously!)
I have to ask all, what’s the guess on the sentencing manana? Perry seems like a pretty to the point kinda judge. I’m guessing that if she served three years prior, he’ll sentence her to four, as the maximum time for 4 counts of lying to police investigators. Casey gets one more year.
This may be good for her safety. considering the video responses I’ve seen. Plus, with or without the judgments for or against her publicly, would there be anything wrong with giving her the max, especially in this case?
Well, she’s been in prison since October 2008, so about 32 months. Maximum possible sentence is 48 months, but that comes down to 41 months with 15% off for good behaviour (by all accounts she’s been a model prisoner). So I guess she could have to serve up to 9 months.
Problem is, prison time is pretty rare for misdemeanors - fine and/or probation are far more common. I did indeed love the judge, precisely because I thought he was tough but fair. So I have to wonder if he would go ‘above and beyond’ the norm just to ‘set an example’.
I think he sentences her to time served, a fine + probation. She’s home for the weekend.
Yep, she was from the area. Not sure how Casey knew of her. If this had been some common name, like ‘Susan Smith’ or something like that, there’s probably not a lawsuit. But Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez is a very unusual name, and it was used for months by Casey to blame someone for kidnapping/killing her daughter. I hate frivolous lawsuits, but I got no problem with this lawsuit.
Casey will be in prison for the rest of her life. However, the prison she’ll be in has no bars. She’s the most hated woman in America right now. She will neither be forgiven nor forgotten - just look at OJ.
Next year it will be “Casey Who”. Dye her hair and start using middle name and she could go anywhere. I kind of doubt she will manage to stay out of trouble thou.
Aceplace, Casey Anthony got (stole) Zenaida Gonzales’ personal information off of an apartment application left in plain view on someone’s desk. The civil suit is all kinds of legitimate:
Well, that is one of the biggest mysteries of the case for me, because no one has placed Casey in that particular apartment complex, office or no, during this time period.
I don’t have the text of every deposition sitting in front of me, but: are you certain about that?
…
Overal point: I also think (can’t prove, and don’t care to) that Casey (or someone) was ridiculously lucky a bunch of times not being witnessed being in certain places at certain times. I don’t know if Caylee’s death was “the perfect crime” or simply one of the biggest overall luck-outs in criminal history.
Though there are many unsolved cases out there, even some where arrests are never made.
Hang on now – during what time period? No one said Casey got Zenaida’s info at any specific time. It could have been quite some time before Caylee’s death. The fake nanny was not necessarily invented to buy time after Caylee’s death – the fake nanny, I believe/can’t prove, was also used to keep Cindy off of Casey’s back at times prior to the murder.
Also, here’s Casey’s connection to the Sawgrass Apartments. I don’t really care that someone didn’t explicitly see Casey looking straight at the apartment application on someone’s desk. It’s also possible that the application was seen somewhere else on the grounds.
I doubt they would have done it if not for the likelihood that she’ll make a ton of money from this.
It sure looked like she expected to be released today. Is this the first time we’ve seen her with her hair down? And smiling. The woman has no clue how most people feel about her.
A couple of HLN producers had seats in front of George and Cindy this morning (Lee didn’t show). They told Vinnie Politano that Cindy commented to George “Doesn’t she look pretty?”
I’m glad Casey will be in jail for another week or so. Hopefully she can be quietly released and located somewhere out of Orlando for awhile. The environment is just too volatile in Orlando.
Somebody will have to step up and help her for awhile until she can do some interviews. She has no choice. She’s totally indignant right now. She’s got harsh court fines to pay or she’ll get jailed all over again. She’s has to hire & pay a lawyer for the Zanny civil case. That will probably be settled with a $$$$ settlement if Casey can get enough money. It may take 50 grand just to make Zenaida go away.
It’s distasteful, but the girl has no choice. She needs a hundred grand just to pay court fines and the IRS lien that I linked earlier. That’s ten years work for someone at McDonald’s. Paying those thousands of $$$ court fines is a priority. Judge Perry would love to throw her ass back in jail.
I imagine Baez will help her some in exchange for future earnings on her PR.
If she got the info quite some time before Caylee’s death, it was not through the Sawgrass apartment application, for the real not-nanny Zenaida only filled it out on June 17, 2008. And of course by this time, Annie had not lived at Sawgrass for over a year. Annie’s ex Dante still did, but he says that Casey had not been to his apartment since at least January 2007.
