Anyone following the Casey Anthony trial?

I pity the Vegas collectables dealer that tries to sell it from his hotel room.

So, how many months til Casey does porn?

Charged with what? Casey wasn’t convicted because there was no physical evidence tying her to the homicide. There’s no physical evidence tying George to it, and even less circumstantial evidence.

In any case, it would make the state attorney’s office look like it was witch-hunting. Prosecutions of this kind require political will, and prosecuting George would be incredibly unpopular.

Jose Baez owns all of the Anthonys’ media rights associated with the trial, including Casey’s. They signed them over when Casey ran out of money to pay him herself, and the state had not yet agreed to pay for her defense on indigency grounds.

She won’t see a dime from interviews, book or movie deals, except whatever Baez feels like paying her to get her to cooperate.

The only thing George Anthony is guilty of is being an idiot on the stand. His combative and sometimes evasive responses to defense counsel painted the picture of a man who had something to hide.

Granted, he had reason to detest Baez for crafting the defense that he did, but George’s demeanor on the stand was poison to the state’s case, and icing on the top of the defense’s.

I wonder if the Judge still plans to go after Baez now that the trial is over? He kept threatening Baez with contempt for not following the court’s orders to get written reports from the Defense Experts.

I don’t think such a move would go over too well. It would seem vindictive for the judge to go after a lawyer that just saved his client from the death chamber.

Hopefully, the judge will chalk it up to exhaustion and stress on a three year case. They’ve been going six days a week since the trial began. Slapping Baez on some technicality seems pretty petty at this point. Same thing with Jeff Ashton’s laughing during the defense closing. Best to let it go and move on.

I wonder how Nancy Grace gets away with smearing people on her show? Calling Casey “Tot Mom” and banging that drum of guilt for three years.

She pulled the same crap with the Duke players that were falsely accused a few years ago. I’ve never once heard of Nancy defending anyone that is accused of committing a crime. She’s always there ready to smear them any way possible. It’s like the possibility of innocence never even occurs to the woman.

I try to avoid her as much as possible. It’s not easy because she’s such a big presence on CNN.

Holy crap! If that’s true, Baez’s convoluted and sensational defense suddenly starts to make a lot more (business) sense.

I knew this was going to happen.

I told my mother and she just didn’t believe me. She told me, in all her infinite wisdom, that the jury could simply reject the prosecution’s charge and go with a different one, all on their lonesome. I was too tired to argue with her. I guess part of me hoped she was right.

I blame the prosecution for ALL of this. They had everything lined up, but if they hadn’t been so ambitious by going with the pre-meditated angle–which Cindy Anthony cleverly flummoxed up, I believe–then the verdict would have come out differently.

I don’t think things will be alright for this chick. At least not in the short-term. I know if I were Cindy, I’d be making tracks to get away from Evil Spawn, and then I’d be divorcing George. I wouldn’t dare let psycho girl into my life again. Not after being dragged through all that mess. But Cindy’s probably not going to do this. I believe she’s a weak woman. (I’m still confused by it took the parents a month to figure out that the girl was missing. That alone would have made me a very difficult jury member).

Not having been following the trial, I caught the synopsis of this trainwreck on MSNBC on Sunday night. That prison visiting room footage made me nauseous. “Just tell us where Callie is, sweetheart. Sweetheart, we love you, just help us out here.” Ooh, I wanted to strangle all of them! If Cindy had been a black mama, she would have been all like, “Girl, if you don’t quit rolling your eyes at me and start telling the truth, I’m going reach through this window and make you talk!” Seems to me all that “sweetheart” and “baby” stuff is related to how fucked-up this woman turned out.

(Yes, I know I’m being all racial and controversial. Forgive me, please.)

The next Bachelorette ! It’s a lock.

With 10 felony convictions, and a reputation as the most hated woman in America, there’s little left. Her friends have moved on with their educations and places in life. They want nothing to do with her. Who will hire her? Who will rent their home to her? Who will want her living next door? For the rest of her life she’s going to see people whispering behind her back.

What ten felonies?

Bad check writing. Maybe some felonies in her past, not sure. She was already on probation for the checks, though.

Might have misspoken. Were the 4 counts of lying to law enforcement felonies or misdemeanors? Regardless, 6 felony convictions for fraud related matters is sufficient to bar her from employment with most companies.

If I’m understanding you correctly, your mother was right. If the jury wanted to convict Casey of say, involuntary manslaughter, it could have; it’s a lesser included offense. In Florida, anyone charged with homicide is automatically charged with each lower degree also.

If she meant they could decide to find her guilty of arson, then no.

Misdemeanors.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the DA, not the prosecution. The prosecutors did everything they could with no evidence. No cause of death, no motive, no DNA. They had nothing but Casey’s strange, horrible behavior to go on. And while it’s very likely she had something to do with the kid’s death, there was no way to prove it was a premeditated murder.

Casey has all kinds of helpful people writing her in prison - many men making propositions.

Bizarre stuff.

I know I’d hit it.

Well yeah, but with what?

A dead toddler.

Casey gets her sentence Thursday morning. She may get released on time served or still have several more months to go. For her personal safety, it might be better if she was released in a few months. There’s some very pissed off people that aren’t thinking very clearly right now.

Casey still has a list of problems to deal with. She better not try and hide in another fantasy world. This stuff could get serious if it’s ignored.

Prosecution is being spiteful and nasty. This is pure venom. It was filed the day after Casey’s acquittal.

She currently owes the IRS $68,500 and I bets it’s climbing every day.

She’s got the Zenaida Gonzalez civil suit. I guess the real Zenaida didn’t realize Zanny the Nanny was code for Xanax. IMHO this suit is bogus. It’s a weird coincidence there’s a real Zanny.

Finally Casey still has a years probation on her check fraud charges. She’s a felon and that makes getting a job very difficult.
