Anyone following the Casey Anthony trial?

Casey has to keep the “nanny” terminology because she joked with her friends about “Zanny the Nanny” refering to Xanax. Xanax is overwhelmingly refered to as zanny in Orlando. If she backs up now and refers to anyone as a caregiver or a babysitter she will have to explain why all of the witnesses can remember her talking about Zanny the Nanny as opposed to the babysitter. At the time she thought that this description of the abuse of her child was crafty and even funny. This woman is irretrivaby broken rather than pretentious.

They likely fought it for good reason - its not accepted here in the US as ‘valid’ (i’m assuming that - correct me if I’m wrong) - and its a catch 22 -

If they find it - defense claims its unproven science.

If they don’t find it - defense claims it proves something else.

So its a no win either way - and reality is the defense likely didn’t want it either - but they like throwing up a strawman that says “hey, heres this other thing they could’ve done and didn’t, what are they hiding?” by not having it -

Wow, here’s a strange story. Supposedly George Anthony shared some pillow talk about the case with a mistress.

I Have no idea if this will even be allowed in by the judge. Or if it will even matter. But, Dr. Drew is talking about it.

I still find it hard to believe a former cop would take an accidental death and turn it into this huge murder case. If George found Caylee in the pool he’d know to call the cops. Kids drown in pools all the time. Cops rule it accidental death and the case is closed. George would know that. He probably investigated similar cases as a cop. I don’t think he’d ever do something stupid like hiding the body. All that does is turn accidental death into murder 1.

Interesting video, with a short clip of the mistress.

More on the mistress. wftv channel 9 is the local Orlando station and is the website where I watch the trial live. Old news, but it’s the first time I heard about it.

I personally think the mistress is the lead that to the** “key” **that will solve this case. If a complete investigation of George is done, we will find out what really happened, and we will find that Casey did NOT kill her daughter.

George and the mistress can give us the missing pieces which will make everything about this case “fit”, and until EVERYTHING fits, we are going up the wrong tree by putting Casey on trial because only the truth fits completely with no loose ends.

Uh, what?

Huh??

Except that prior to June of 2008, it seems that Caylee’s whereabouts were accounted for. She was in the care of Casey herself, or with George and Cindy, or occasionally with other babysitters.

Prior to June, when Casey referred to a nanny to her friends, it was when Caylee was really with her grandparents, or in the context of why Casey couldn’t make some social event (“I can’t come, my parents aren’t home and the nanny’s tied up in traffic”)

Prior to June, when Casey referred to a nanny to her parents, it was when Casey was supposed to be at work, but wasn’t, so Casey was free to watch Caylee herself. During some of this time, Casey’s friends reported seeing Casey and Caylee together at times when George and Cindy thought Caylee was with the nanny.

IMO, if Casey did resort to drugging Caylee, it was only for a very short period of time prior to Caylee’s death, and perhaps only once and that one time was directly responsible for Caylee’s death.

The chloroform levels really don’t make sense to me when viewed with all the known facts, and I believe that they either haven’t been traced to their right source, and/or are a red herring here.

I hope that there is somebody on that jury that knows that there really are! coyotes in Florida, lots of them, and in residential areas, and also, that the most likely explanation of a bone being found buried 4 inches down after just a few months, is most likely because an animal/dog/coyote did buried it.

It is insulting for the prosecution to laugh and make fun at the thought of a bone being buried and for the prosecution to lie about coyotes not being in Florida. Big lie, and a Big mistake if I was on that jury.

The authorities have done a complete investigation of George. They’ve traced his whereabouts; talked to everyone in his life; examined his phone, computer, EZ Pass, and bank records.

The exact words of this mistress or alleged mistress to the police are as followed, taken from her interview.

If those words are a correct paraphrase of his own, George clearly assigns responsibility to the cover-up to Casey, not to anyone else.

I never expected George to out and out admit it, that is a far stretch to think any ex-cop would openly and clearly admit to such a thing. However, his statements to his mistress are not inconsistent with George “hinting” about what he knows/did. In my experience, cops rarely admit to anything, but they do “hint” a lot to things that they have done.

Frankly, I “can see” George, or any admitedly immoral liar ex-cop covering up, taping, bagging, hiding a body/any body, etc, but I can not see a young mother doing such a thing without something other than circumstantial.

It is just too much of a stretch, too circumstantial, for Casey to have thought of everything and actually doing it, but totally believable for an ex-cop to know how to do such a thing and to actually do it. It is just so rare for a mother to do such a thing to the body of her child, even past mothers who murdered their children were seldom so crass.

Yeah, I can believe that at the time Casey knew that George would “take care of it” even while not knowing the details of all that George had to do to bad, tape, and coverup the body.

Frankly, I think any ex or current cop, immoral, liar, or otherwise, could do a better job disposing a body or covering up a crime than was done here.

And I think his statements were more consistent with a man struggling to reconcile his faith in his child with the mounting evidence against her rather than with any dark “hints.”

The whole problem with the accidental death and cover-up defense, is that Casey invented Zanny the nanny, months prior to mid-June 2008. Casey told Cindy Anthony numerous times prior to the last time Caylee was seen, that she was using Zanny when she went to work. If it was an accidental death and Zanny the nanny was part of the cover-up, why invent her months prior to Caylee’s death?

This is conjecture on my part, but I think the nanny lie was to back up the lie that Casey had a job. And of course Casey would lie about having a job because otherwise her parents would nag her to go get a job.

Of course it was a lie to cover-up the fact that she didn’t have a job. So where was Caylee on all of those days, prior to her disapperance, when Casey was supposedly going to work and dropping Caylee off at Zanny’s?

Then Caylee ends up dead, stuffed in two garbage bags, with duct tape around her head.

I would lean more towards, selfish mother wanting her single life back, than shocked grandfather wanting to hide the accidental death.

Because Casey is a total and complete compulsive liar. Casey has always lied about anything and everything. Casey lying about Zanny is just another lie, nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing unexpected.

If Casey knew Caylee died and that George said he was going “to take care of it” , then it is only natural and normal human reaction for a parent to make up, pretend, conceptualize that the child is… with a nanny, with relatives, with Jesus, in Heaven, Reincarnated, or whatever.

Casey thinking Caylee was with Zanny the nannie might just be her way to face the tragedy that happened, most parents do not want to actually visualize what really happened to their dead children. It would not surprise me to think that Casey might have actually convinced herself that her child was with Zanny and not rotting away.

Lots and lots and lots of parents want to think their dead children are singing in heaven and not in the ground being eaten by worms

I never said George was a “smart” ex-cop.

IF George was with a mistress and if George knew Casey was dead all the while he was telling the public to organize search parties, then we already know that George is a liar, he betrayed his wife, he broke the oath of marriage, and that he is immoral. If there is a mistress, then George has no credibility at all.

The case does not, in any way, rest on George’s credibility.

Haven’t seen a mistress presented as a witness yet. If one did exist, and I was her defense attorney, that would have been one of the first witnesses I would have put her on the stand.

Also, the prosecution, already knows what witnesses the defense intends to present. Real trials are not like Perry Mason. If the prosecution thought George Anthony had anything to do with Caylee’s death, he would have been charged as well.

I think George, as a former cop, would certain know that there’s a lesser chance of punishment if a child accidentally drowns in a swimming pool than if a child is found months later, bagged like a dead dog and thrown in a swamp. The area the body was found was, if I recall correctly, under water for most of the time the search was going on. Certainly if he wanted to dispose of the body of a small child, he’d know to go farther than a couple blocks from his own home. Whether he had a mistress has nothing to do with his masterminding a pathetic plot to hide the accidental death of his grandchild.

Children die accidentally all the time. And there’s usually a short blurb on the news expressing sympathy and life goes on. A mother usually has to be significantly negligant for any charges to be pressed, and those aren’t capital murder charges. Only someone who is narcissitic and a complusive liar would think that she could give unlimited spurious excuses about her child’s whereabouts and no one would get wise to the fact that she didn’t have the child with her any longer.
