Anyone following the Casey Anthony trial?

This is what all the rational people here also believe.

True, but George also knows that if nobody knows at all that George had something to do with Caylee’s death then George would have** zero** chance to go to jail. Children go “missing” all the time, every day. George had no idea, THERE WAS NO WAY!!! that this case would become the national news story that it did. Who would have guessed that this death would be national news at that time? Nobody!
That was a 1 in a million shot! George did not want there to be any chance that he would be endanger. We dont know how the child died, or if George could have been charged with a crime. He might have figured that if no body knew of the death, or if the suspicion was placed on Casey instead of George that George would be off the hook, for this, and for anything else he might have done, regardless. George might not have wanted his past investigated more than it was. Who knows what George might have in his past?

I do not believe George… not 1 bit!

You are in the minority.

But, I’ll play along with your little game.

  1. What motive did George have for covering up an accidental death of Caylee?

  2. By all appearances and accounts of all family members, George cared deeply for Caylee. If he found her drowned in the pool, why didn’t he call 911 to have paramedics sent out to try and resucitate her? Most people know that a drowned child can possibly be revived. So why did he not even try?

  3. If it was truly an accident covered-up, why doesn’t he testify now as to those facts? Does he hate Casey that much, that he’s willing to let his only daughter potentially get the death penalty over an accident?

I’m not following it very closely, but yes, she did it. Her behavior couldn’t be more damning and the defense isn’t believable at all.

Yeah. Well, based on the evidence presented here, you seem to have a deep prejudice against the police which has nothing to do with this case, and you’re simply trying desperately to pound a square peg into a round hole. So I think we all agree that it’s a good thing that you’re not on the jury.

Hmm, so does (ex)-Congressman Weiner have an alibi for the time period in question?

  1. to stay out of prison. The legal commentators on tv have all said that even if Caylees death was an accident, that Casey would still be guilty of a felony. Since it was George’s fault, not Caseys, then it would be George who would be facing hard time in prison, It was Georges pool, it was Georges ladder. It wss probably Georges fault.

  2. George is an ex-cop and probably witnessed many many attempt of successful and failed resuscitations, and as such he probably knows at what point resuscitation aint gonna work. When George found Caylee, he knew from experience that resuscitation would not do one bit of good.

  3. She has not been sentenced to death yet. There is no point in him revealing what he did yet because Casey might still get off. Finally, it is him or Casey who would go to jail, and he probably likes himself more. If the story is true that he molested Casey, then it would fit that he would rather not go to prison instead of Casey. Besides, even if George admitted to covering up the death and hiding the body, Casey would ALSO still go to prison, so there would be nothing to save Casey from if they would both be going to prison anyway if he talked. If he keeps his mouth shut, then perhaps Casey would not be convicted and they both would get off. Seems to me that George has nothing to gain and he, and Casey, are guaranteed to lose by admitting what he did.

It is a no-brainer.

Actually quite the opposite.

I came into this trial presuming innocence, and so far, I have not seen any proof of her being guilty, and esp I have not seen anything at all other than circumstantial conflicting testimony.

If I was on the jury, I alone would be the only juror to ensure justice in this case. Its a shame that I am not on the jury.

Where have you been?

Cops dont go after fellow cops.

Susanann, please tell me that you will be around and posting on the day the jury renders a guilty verdict. Please tell me that you’re going to start a brand new thread on how the jury got it wrong.

Prosecutors go after cops all the time. Where have you been?

I’m a little lost… What ladder do you keep referring to?

George owns the swimming pool, it is Georges responsibility to keep it safe from children getting drowned.

It is George who is responsible to keeping the fence around the pool and the gate closed around the swimming pool.

It is George’s responsibility to make sure the ladder is taken down so no child can climb up and get into the pool.

If a child dies unattended in Georges pool because of Georges neglect it is Georges fault… Prison time…and there is your motive for George to do a coverup .

It wont be the first time I could clearly see what others are too foolish or too prejudiced to see. I couldn’t stop slavery, or stop the Vietnam war from happening either. Not my fault. Its your bed.

I’m not guessing prison time, if a child had to climb over a fence to get into the pool. He’d be wide open for a lawsuit, expecially if it had been a neighbor’s kid, but he’d have to be the only adult watching and negligence would have to be proved for there to be any prison time. It’s hard to prove negligence and George would know what to say to work the system.

It would be a huge pain in the ass, but nothing as threatening as an accusation of murder and probably not anything like as difficult as dealing with the grief of a granddaughter’s death. That would be where his mind would be at a time like that. Assuming he’s normal.

If Caylee’s death was an accident WHILE SHE WAS DRUGGED AND LEFT IN THE TRUNK OF A CAR, then it’s a felony. It’s a crime to do that to a child whether she dies or not. A death in the course of a crime is murder. A death due to depraved indifference is murder (or manslaughter? not sure, but definitely worse than negligence). That doesn’t apply to George.

George didn’t commit a crime. George had a pool. George is alledged to have not kept an eagle eye on his granddaughter. I assume they also alledge that no one else was there, because otherwise he could have assumed that someone else was watching her. Either way, not a crime, not depraved indifference, so not a felony.

Being accused of negligence would be a huge pain in the ass but . . .

Even if it wasn’t intended, it’s still depraved indifference and still a death in the course of a crime, which will make it M1.

That’s really the only way she’ll get out of it. And it can’t be something that someone did while Caylee was drugged and abandoned. Or something that Casey watched or arranged or knew would happen.

I’m guessing that it’s pretty rare to have everything fit, especially when dealing with liars or even regular folks with conflicting stories. Double especially if dealing with old, scattered evidence. That’s why TV is so much more satisfying than real life court cases.

Sorry that this is upsetting you so much.

None of the above matters unless you believe that Caylee drowned in the pool. (Ditto George’s sex life.)
No evidence has been presented that Caylee drowned in the pool.
Therefore, none of the above matters.

If they want people to believe that the girl drowned, they’ll need a hell of a lot more than Casey Anthony’s word on the subject.

One thing that came to light yesterday is that Anthony once had a dormmate - whose son died in their swimming pool and whose body was found the by the Grandfather. This is exactly the same story she’s trying to sell now as her defense. Pretty typical of a pathological liar to use a story from her background, just like she grabbed the name Zenaida off an apartment register she saw once.

I’ll admit I haven’t watched all of the trial, but from what I’ve seen and read of it I really don’t think they’ll be able to get a guilty verdict. I completely believe she’s responsible for the kid’s death either through murder or criminal negligence but I don’t know if I could vote her guilty “beyond a reasonable doubt” without more of a smoking gun. So far they’ve proven she’s a pathological liar, covered up the kid’s death, was a shitty mother and partied afterwards, is probably a sociopath, and I don’t think the bullshit story about George Anthony and coyotes and Elvis impersonators and aliens from Zendor IX or whatever is fooling anybody, but there’s still room for doubt that she intentionally killed the kid.

And I swear if I was on Nancy Grace and she interrupted me with her snerking like she does any guest she disagrees with I’m break a 1972 glass Coke bottle and grind it in her face and I seriously doubt if you did it on live TV anybody would have seen anything. Why does this crazy stupid bitch have a show when she adds absolutely nothing and everybody hates her? If they gave a “Crime 2Night” show to Dave Coulier and a pet chimp with the same guests and footage they could probably get the same or higher ratings.

Yet the defense suggested that it was Cindy, not George, who left the ladder up. If I remember right, George was at work most of that day.

Look, Casey herself denied in her police interview that Caylee was dead, or that Caylee died accidentally. The police gave her an out – children die by accident every day – and Casey didn’t take it. **She didn’t take it because she didn’t want Casey’s body found. She had to stick with the kidnapping story. ** Simple as that.

I’m not sure how to nest quotes but this is refering to me saying that Xanax is refered to as zanny or zannie in Orlando. I should clairify. In the circles where Xanax is used recreationally in NE Florida that terminology is commonly used.

This is why I believe that she talked about Zanny the Nanny far before Caylee died. She thought it was clever. I truly believe that she had been giving her Xanax to ensure that she would be sleeping while she partied.

“Zanny” or “Zanny Bars” has been slang for Xanax (again, among those who like getting gooned out on tranquilizers) around here for years as well.

I am sure this is exactly what happened; Casey wanted a way to knock Caylee out for hours at a stretch (saving her the $$$ of having to shell out for a sitter) while she got her drink/drug/fuck on, (that’s why she was also interested in chloroform) and wasn’t smart enough to figure out that a toddler’s metabolism and tolerance isn’t the same as an adults is.

Why she didn’t just admit to her parents or a social-services organization that she wasn’t able to be a proper mother is the real mystery here, as I am sure that a loving home could have been arranged for Caylee, either in the family or with others who would have lavished the little girl with TLC…
