Anyone for President 2008!

If he won’t run, then I nominate Jimmy Buffett!

For that matter, let’s elect the Jesse Jackson/ Al Sharpton ticket. They can’t fuck things up any more than the last few administrations, and then we would never have to listen to their yammerings ever again. It’s a win-win.

Al Franken/Barak Obama

Someone who’s neither a Republican or a Democrat (though I might be willing to take a leftist Democrat if they quit the party and dedicated themselves to dismantling the two-party system), very far left, and preferably not a white male. I’m having a lot of trouble thinking of someone that fits this bill who’s even vaguely well-known and doesn’t have major skeletons in their closet.

Mike Stearns from 1632; a great leader, and he’d give the Republicans a collective heart attack - possibly literally.

Chuck Norris… Come on, someone had to say it!

But seriously, I’d love to see Obama in office eventually, though I doubt he’ll do anything this election. I’d also like to see Gore run again.

I can’t say I’ve ever agreed with you before Der but…yeah! I could get behind that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sanders, Kucinich or Nader would fit the bill – except for being white males. Obama . . . still an unknown quantify, but I’m not convinced he’s really any further left than Dean or Hilary.

The OP didn’t say so explicitly, but I think fictional characters are implicitly excluded from consideration.

Of course, by that rule W would be excluded . . .

Fiengold and Nader. Obama is turning more political every day. Hart would be good.Sanders is very good. Kucinich is good.

How’s this for very far left. The guy was actually running for president in 2004! He’s running for the Senate against Hillary Clinton in 2006.

I’m going to send this discussion-free poll over to IMHO.

Tom~

I do not choose to run.

Either Alexander the Great, Franklin Roosevelt, or James T. Kirk.

Atticus Finch is probably a good, wholesome choice…but then again, that guy’s always seemed a bit too “means justify the ends” for my tastes.

Eh, I guess I’ll go with Trek Thunder Kelly, again. I think he’s the only one who I mostly agree with. The only realistic problem I have is whether he has the political chops to bring his policies to life, or not.

Denny Crane

David Palmer.

Feingold

Or Theodore Roosevelt. Because he just rocked.

Powell, but as he’ll refuse, my choice is Bugs Bunny.

Yes he did a wonderful job last time around didn’t he

I would go with Zell Miller.

Hilary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani.

If Oprah ran, a lot of people would vote for her.

Word.

Under the circumstances he inherited, aye!

No fictional characters!
