To control my perimenopausal bleeding I’m considering Endometrial Ablation or Uterine Aretery/Fibroid Embolization. The handout I was sent says the End. Abl. procedure “fixes bleeding in about 70% of women. In this surgery, the cells which line the inside of the uterus are removed &/or destroyed.”
Of course I’ll be consulting with my GYN on this but am wondering if anyone here has had this done, what the experience was like and, did it work?
Another option is Uterine Aretery/Fibroid Embolization (I tested negative for fibroids but this is another option to get rid of the bleeding.) Published studies suggest this cures bleeding in 90% of “appropriately selected” patients. This procedure clogs the blood vessels leading to the uterus and results in a “starving” of the uterus. The uterus shrinks and the bleeding stops."
Anyone here had either of these procedures?
