Anyone have a back yard bread oven?

There’s gotta be some dopers out there that have built their own back yard bread/pizza ovens. Care to share what you have? curious about what style, cost, how much you use it, how it works, etc.

I’m thinking of a cob oven because they seem cheap and relatively easy to DIY. Sorta test the water and see if the reality matches how much I dream of having a backyard bread oven.

Ooh, I’d never even heard of that, but I want to subscribe to this thread to read about them. They sound very tempting.

OMG, I found the motherlode. I’ll check back here later!

Ask again next year.

I’m moving in a month to the country. Right after I get my chickens and goats, up goes the bread oven. I haven’t decided how I will make it, cob is definitely a contender. I’m very interested in green building as a whole. Haybale construction is an option also, however, that may be for my surrounding structure.

(I want to build a small cook house that has a bread oven, smoker and tons of counters for baking. The location I have picked has a small mountain stream running nearby, so running water would be easy and using it to maintain a constant temperature would be a plus, although it is rather cold, about 55 degrees F)

That’s the SDMB of bread ovens
