I signed up for roommates.com a couple days ago after seeing it mentioned in another thread and am getting mixed results.
My first prospect was a “South African” in “Nigeria” wanting me to cash some money orders and send him the balance so he can move here; my second through seventh all seem to be uninterested as none returned my emails; and my eighth seems promising although she mentioned having other places to check out and seems to want a bathroom to herself when I only have 1.5 baths which means one of us would either have to not shower or use the sink in the half-bath, one.
Neither sounds appealing, obviously, but I’m hoping she’ll still consider it.
Anyway, does anyone else have any experience with the site for good or bad? While I’ve lived with people I met online, they’ve always been with people I knew for months beforehand and got a chance to feel out first. This is a new experience for me.
