Anyone here gotten ordained online?

I want to commission Minister Wee-Wee to officiate my funeral.

Attendees will say my funeral was the cat’s meow.

Mind if I ask why?

Universal Life Church about ten years ago, 'cause you never know when holy water might come in handy.

The marriages I’ve solemnized have been for people very close to me and I’ve put everything into my performance. Everything. It’s exhausting; physically, emotionally, mentally.

What John McClain went through in DieHard? Way beyond that.

Worth it in retrospect, but not something I’d volunteer to do again.

From one minister to another, I feel you man. No one who hasn’t been there could possibly understand.

I was ordained by the ULC many years ago, and the only thing I’ve ever done with it is gain the nickname “Reverend Tim” which I shortened to Revtim and have used as a username in many places, including right here on the SDMB.

How many guests survived?

Many, many years ago, I clicked a button that ordained me as a ULC minister. I printed off the certificate it generated and everything. Never did anything with it, and I have no idea where or if that piece of paper still exists.

hajario - aren’t you the dude that was the “official” gaijin minister that performed for years at weddings in Japan?

No. I’ve spent a total of maybe two weeks in Japan over three different trips.

Hmmm, there was another poster then that did weddings on the weekend in Japan. Can’t remember who it was though.

Well, I went to the courthouse and filed my paperwork. The whole process took about 3 minutes. No side-eye. No nuthin. I can now perform a marriage ceremony anywhere in the state of Oklahoma.

Minister Glinley.
