Anyone in central Florida want a cat?

My wife’s 90 year old grandmother got to the point, a few months ago, where she couldn’t live in her house any more, even with a great deal of assistance. So she’s in a nursing home.

Grandma had a 6 year old cat. Female, spayed, indoor cat. Almost current on shots.

This cat is probably not good around children or other pets, having been the sole pet of a very old woman. She’s pretty aloof with us when we come down there, but she was affectionate with Grandma.

We’re 800 miles north, in the DC area, and we can’t take the cat anyway: we’ve got 3 cats already, plus a 7 year old boy. We’ve got people stopping by when we’re not in town, to feed the cat and change the litter. But we obviously need a more permanent solution.

So: would anyone in central Florida (I-4 corridor or nearby) be interested in bringing a cat into their life, or know anyone else who would be?

Cripes no. But I can bump this. Best of luck to you and the kitty.

Pics? Even a description might help … Not that cat lovers are a shallow bunch - oh, no! - but we all tend to have our favorite colors and coat patterns.

Glad you’re doing this for your wife’s grandmother. I’m sure it brings her peace of mind to know that her kitty is being cared for and that you’re trying to find it a new home instead of dumping it or having it put down.
