Anyone interested in running a D&D for newbies?

I’m into it. I’ve never played D&D before. Other than one attempt on SDMB in the past in a game that fizzled out, I’ve never done any role-playing at all, but I feel relatively conversant in the argot anyway from here, from around the internet and from video games and so on. So this is perfect.

I think I’d either like to be a human ranger type or some kind of magic flinger, i.e. nothing melee-heavy and nothing spiritual, but if those are better for more experienced people I’m happy to defer to your wisdom.

Indeed. I’ve played with glee before and would love to again. glee, I’m also happy to play any role, including the healer.
