Anyone know how to make green pea soup - not split pea? or other soup recipes...?

I have only ever seen split pea souup, or as we call it French Canadian soup with ham.

Does anyone know how to make green pea soup? I was at this weird culty restaurant (run by a Tribes Commune) and they has this amazing bright green pea soup.

Anyone?

Also, any good soup recipes? I love the idea of soup, but not generally the actual product…but it will be -38 tomorrow with the windchill so I am thinking soup.

Ach laddie, if you’re gonnae be cold ye’ll need some Scotch Broth . The recipe suggests neck of lamb as an option, but it’s way better with the other suggestion of old fatty mutton.

The last batch of split pea/bean/ham soup I made sucked, so I won’t waste your time with that, but if you look up a good potato-leek soup, you’ll step into a version of heaven that’s pretty hard to beat. THey’re simple, usually contain cream, and they’re awesome.

I’m not sure how available smoked haddock will be in Winnipeg, but you could consider Cullen Skink. Very warming.

I have a recipe at home for a pea and basil soup. This isn’t exactly it, but it’s pretty close:
