I’ve only got into them the last few days. Got a load of their tracks from emusic. The sexy Scottish accent on the girl, the '60s/motown/belle and seb style, oh it’s nearly perfect. Any other fans?
Me! Let’s Get Out Of This Country is one of my favorite albums ever.
Yes! I started listening to them last year and I love their style of music. Lloyd I’m Ready To Be Heartbroken, Let’s Get Out Of This Country, Keep It Clean and Eighties Fan are my favorites.
Yep. I read about them when their first album came out, so I bought it, and have been buying everything since. My only problem with them is that they get a little too slow and boring at times, but most bands can’t sustain greatness for entire albums.
FYI: There’s a San Diego (I think) band also called Camera Obscura, who are more kind of bad math rock/bad punk - be careful when thinking you’ve found a new CO CD you’d never heard of before (I found out the hard way).
I love them, although I don’t really listen to them all that regularly. They have a good sound that apes that early-60s Phil Spector-style American girl-group music. Their female singer has a great soft voice. Beyond that there’s not much else to say, I guess. I’ve never seen them live, I don’t know what kind of show they put on.
I’ve seen them once. They put on a decent live show, but nothing to really write home about. Then again, they’re a bit twee for my taste, so YMMV.
