Anyone like me and take the gender race swap phenomena on a case by case basis?

If I feel the producers are trolling…go to hell. I don’t need the extra toxicity. If i feel you’re fucking with an essential part of the lore and you don’t get it?? GO TO HELL.

Example: Black Tinkerbell??

Who gives a rats ass??? FFS. Its Tinkerbell.

BUT…girls in the Lost Boys and they flat out say “Yeah we’re girls who care??”

You don’t get it. There’s a very real reason The Lost Boys are Boys. They’re women-hating he-men boys will be boys but they very much need a mother figure hence why they want Wendy. There’s a pathos there. Its fundamentally tied into the story. You can argue girls can be Lost Boys without impacting the dynamics…but you’d be wrong.

Kang?? High Evolutionary?? Who cares. You barely ever see their faces anyways. But were they to make Magneto and Prof X literal MLK and Malcolm X figures and ditch the Holocaust angle?? Thats a huge mistake IMHO

I attended a version of Pygmalion where the main character doesn’t merely crossover to upper class but also crosses gender and presents as male. Reviewed it here.

Short version is, it didn’t work. You can’t just tack on gender without thinking it through.

I suppose I should note before someone else does…Both the MLK/Malcolm X thing AND Magneto being a Holocaust survivor were tacked on way after the fact (Despite what Stan Lee may say) and therefore the Holocaust origin story doesn’t have a particular leg up on any future project that may or may not lean more into the MLK/ Malcolm X stuff.

As time goes on they’ll obviously have to, though, at some point just given the age of the actors. The MLK/Malcom X part shouldn’t be literal, but it does serve as a good way to describe them IMHO.
