It’s not even fun to play anymore without those cheesy 70s photos of the suspects. Miss Scarlett was HOT.
Anyone else feel the same way? Those cartoons just aren’t doing it for me.

I’ve never played the new clue, but I would probably agree with you. (Though not in Miss Scarlett was hot. I don’t go in for that sort of thing.)
Have you played the new Life, though? They screwed with it, too…
sad and nostalgic
Oh God, not LIFE! What did they do to it?
Yeah, I saw a Simpsons Clue game at Barnes & Noble last weekend. I’m still unsure as to whether it was amusing or disturbing.
Well, you now get little cards for everything. You can pull a job, pull a salary, pull a house…
If you land on a square, then you have to pay the person with that job the money, instead of just the bank. You can change jobs and salary.
If you spin a 10, you’re fined for “speeding.” [rolleyes]
The only good thing it did was make stocks less confusing, but they dumbed that part WAY down. You get a number, and when someone spins that number, the bank pays you.
sigh
I suspect that many of the classics have gone under the knife of cheesy modernization. I was quite saddened to see a group of people playing RISK with little plastic game pieces that had almost no discernable weight to them.
SCRABBLE has also gone plastic. I hope that it is somehow possible to spend an extra few $ and buy the nice version with the wooden tiles, but I am not very hopeful.
STRATEGO looks very cheap but I can’t figure out why, because I think those pieces have always been plastic.
MASTERPIECE is another one. Paintings are on thin glossy paper instead of nice heavy cardstock.
I don’t even want to look at a modern MONOPOLY game. If those pieces aren’t metal any more I don’t know what I’m gonna do.
Life is so totally screwed up now. You can’t even bet on the wheel any more.
Only if someone is the cop.
