Heck, even when I used to watch the Trebek Jeopardy, it was rare to clear the whole board.
I have seen some old reruns of Fleming’s Jeopardy shows.
Fleming’s personal copy of the clues would have more words than the visual clues.
There, there. Perhaps this will pass and they’ll get back to running the board. It’s happened before.
Off Topic but… that boy who won Tuesday, lost last night:
my wife and I were cringing at his non-stop mugging. He seemed to be channeling Dan Ackroyd’s old SNL Jimmy Carter, with a dose of Bambi thrown in for added ickyness.

Isn’t there a website out there with a database of all the questions asked for all the shows going back a long while? You could probably analyze that and get a trend line to see if it really is more common recently.
