Anyone own a printer/scanner/copyer all-in-one machine?

A nice-looking HP one costs 125$ at Best Buy. What do you reccomend? If you own one, do you ever use the copyer function? Should I buy retail or look for a used one?

Epson Stylus CX4600

Pretty good light duty machine. When used as a copier, the ink sometimes looks more gray than black. No complaints, really.

We own one but since we bought it more than five years ago it is a veritable dinosaur compared to what is availabel today. Ours is an HP and it turned out to be a very useful purchase. We use the copier function regularly. It is ok for single page stuff, I wouldn’t want to copy multiple pages of anything with it.

I’ve sworn never to buy a HP computer again but I love their all-in-one printers. I bought one a few years ago and it’s still running fine, unlike all my other printers I’ve dealt with. It’s also the only printer I’ve used that doesn’t have constant errors and jams. Just make sure you get the flatbed kind where you can raise the lid off its hinges to scan a book, for instance.

I use the copy function all the time. It’s really convenient because your computer doesn’t have to be turned on. The model I have is the ancestor to this model.

I have this one. My parents use it to copy stuff, but scanning stuff takes forever. I don’t know why and maybe I’m doing something wrong with the program for the scanning function, but it takes a long time for me to scan stuff.

I’ve also got an HP AIO, and use the copy function a lot. Not sure if I’ve ever used the scan function. I do know that I’ve never connected it to use as a fax. Mine’s got slots for camera memory cards, and I use them pretty often.

I have a Lexmark X83. My only complaint is the ink cartridges dry up in only a few weeks if not used and there is no way to get them working again. At over $65 a pop for the pair, I said screw it and have been using my trusty old Canon for the little bit of color printing I do.

I have an HP 1210. Works just fine. I use the copier all the time to make copies of documents, bills, etc. Worth it for the convenience.

My father-in-law has one, too. He doesn’t have a computer and uses it solely as a copier. It’s very useful in his recordkeeping.

I have a Samsung SCX-4100 combo B&W laser printer/coper and color scanner. So far it has proven to be an ideal home office printer. Small footprint fairly fast and low maintenance. When I took my current job my company sent me a brother monstrosity injkjet multifunction machine but it was such a hassle dealing with ink cartridges that ran out and went dry between use that I tossed it and bought this. a

Print quality for graphics isn’t at the level of a much more expensive printer but good and excellent text quality. Best of all I can make copies and envelopes that won’t run if a drop of water gets on them. I have a separate photo quality printer for color so this solution works much better for me.

I have an HP Officejet 5500 all-in-one.

I bought it for my small business. We use the fax alot. My dad uses the fax alot now too. He loves it.

I use the copier a lot too. Very handy. I like the paper feed.

There’s alot of options I don’t use, but am sort of getting in to as i need them. I had my mom scanning to PDF and that was cool.

HP 3330 owner. We feed it about a ream a week every week for the last 2 years. Zero headaches. Great for printing, sending & receiving faxes.

As a copier it has doesn’t like feeeding more than about 15 originals at a time. Most of what we copy is 3 to 5 pages so that’s not an issue for us very often.

2-sided printing or copying is a manual exercise. No sweat for the occasional job, but if that was a big part of our workload we’d want a real copier with duplexer.

Epson Stylus CX5200.

Works ok. Sometimes have to re-install when it locks up. Did that 3 x in the last 3 years or so. Took about 5 minutes to do that each time.

It doesn’t get real high-volume use.

I have an HP1210 as well. I don’t use it all that much (I’ve had it for almost two years, and I don’t think I’ve ever replaced its ink cartridges), but it’s never given me a single problem. Haven’t had problems with ink drying up or anything along those lines.

Lexmark 3350, 60 bucks at Wal-Mart

I had an HP - 5510, I think. It lasted about one year of very light use (like two reams of paper during that time) before it stopped working.

I replaced it with a Canon MP130. It’s pretty decent for the price (under $90, IIRC), but the scanner function is very slow. Copy is much faster, so the bottleneck is either the USB interface or the driver. (The computer is new and has USB2 ports.) I can live with it - I have no plans to replace it.

Are you thinking of the 1510? B/c I’m considering buying an HP 1610, and that’s the one below it. Do you think your experience was typical of the brand?

HP OfficeJet T-25 All-in-one, bought in 2000, has worked perfectly ever since.

I’m pretty sure it was an Officejet 5510. No, I don’t know if it’s typical - it was the first HP printer I bought in 10 years.

I’ve had very good luck with Canon laser printers - at my last workplace we had 2 each Canon and Epson printers, and I’ve never seen both Epsons in working order at the same time. And I never saw either Canon with an “out of order” sign. Same with my father - he replaced his Epson with a Canon and it worked much more reliably. I realize laser printers are very diferent from inkjets, but that was enough reason for me to try the Canon.

We have this little fella. I love him and all his functions. He replaced an OfficeJet T-series, which worked perfectly for almost 5 years.

I have an HP PSC750 (no longer in production) - it was an entry-level model when I bought it, but it has been excellent and I have been thoroughly satisfied with its performance in every respect; the scanning and printing functions are fast and great quality and yes, I do occasionally use the standalone copier function (which works with the PC turned off).

I’m aware that there is a prevailing anti-inkjet ethic on this board, but I can find nothing to fault this one, indeed for the stuff I print, it is the best all-round solution - colour photographs printed on this machine are better than those printed on a £20K colour laser printer at work.

One word of advice: Before you buy, check out the size/capacity of the ink cartridges - more recent models seem to favour teeny tiny cartridges that cose the same as the bigger ones used by other printers, but have a fraction of the ink capacity
