Anyone remember Denny Miller? 'Cause he's dead.

Denny Miller

Working from home today, so I have the TV on in the background. I looked up to see a character on The Rockford Files and wanted to know who he was. Denny Miller. He popped up a bit in various TV shows in the '60s and '70s.

He died last week, of ALS, at the age of 80.

Oh, OK. Not Dennis Miller. That would be a shock.

There hasn’t been a moment that scary since Agrippina found out she couldn’t get daycare.

He was a Tarzan, I definitely remember him. RIP Denny.

He was a former UCLA Bruins basketball star, and he was also the Gorton fish sticks fisherman.

Scared me for a second.

Howdy Pardner in the next life.

He lived right here in Las Vegas, apparently.

Big blond guy, right? I remember him from a lot of TV. Considering when he was active, it’s amazing he never did Star Trek.
I do remember that when Dennis Miller started acting in the occasional movie, there was a problem because his name was too similar to Denny Miller’s and SAG rules insist on a certain level of uniqueness. Mr. Miller (the younger) was able to argue that he was already established as a public persona using that name.

Coincidentally, the last two websites I went to as a result of reading threads on this board both mentioned the Gorton fisherman.

That was my first reaction as well.

Then I saw the OP’s mention of The Rockford Files so my next reaction was that the actor who played Rockford’s cop friend (who was named Dennis Becker) was dead. But I checked and that’s Joe Santos and he’s still alive.

Caligula’s mum, or Nero’s? :stuck_out_tongue:

He wore the Gorn suit.

Oh, you got me right in the pantaloons, partner.

Bang Hardy Partner!

Obligatory Gortons Fisherman Meme

I haven’t seen a choice that pointless since Thomas Becket’s barber asked “So, a little off the top?”

I remember him from The Brady Bunch as Carol’s old boyfriend, the quarterback. The old Statue of Liberty play.
