It was co created by the guy who made Adventure Time and since I loved that show so much I thought I’d give it a watch and was immediately disappointed. The only similarity was the art style behind it but other than that it feel like watching a podcast, it was a chore just to get through an episode. I see it being raved about online and have to wonder what exactly people are thinking when they are watching this. I didn’t really care for how the visuals didn’t match the topic being talked about, and some of the stuff was pretty dense and went over my head.
Not sure I could handle “Trippy, existential, hard to understand” right now.

I need more “normal” in my life these days.
Not gonna do acid, not gonna watch weird stuff,
not gonna listen to my pal Al’s conspiracies…

Some of the episodes were not THAT bad but the style of the whole series is kind of meh. It’s clearly stuck in the 60’s and 70’s
It grew on me. Bit of a snore fest at first. But I really enjoyed the dialogue towards the end. Especially with his mother. I like real interactions like that.
That said, it’s really hard to concentrate on the dialogue when there is so much craziness on screen.

I found all the talk of philosophy to be pretty shallow and unimpressive. I get the impression they tried to make it about deep, complex conversation topics but the concepts just weren’t very deep or thoughtful.
I did like the episode where he lands in a prison, that was interesting. other than that it wasn’t that good.
Can you explain that one for me? I’m not sure I quite got it. A lot of the episodes were pretty dense for me to grasp, the last one was the only one in which I really understood anything being said because it had similarities to Buddhist stuff.
I can’t speak for Wesley, but a lot of the conversation being had were the same ones a lot of young people have when they are in their teens or twenties.
Profound and thought provoking at the time. But for a middle aged something, it can be a bit “meh” as you’ve heard it all before.
Also, I’d guess you understand everything just fine. Philosophical conversation like the ones had on this show are not meant to be understood in clear black and white terms.
If you get the jist, you get it.
Yeah but I like hearing other people explain things. The first episode was a weird take on zombies. The style bores me to death, it’s an animated podcast unfortunately.
Also I’m pretty sure I didn’t watch that one, they all seem to bleed together. The one with his mother was just rife with incorrect statements though
I also didn’t really care for how she essentially said that all the stuff that makes us who we are isn’t real
