Anyone using Advecta this summer?

Happy Flea Season, everyone!

My dog, Sancho - an 18 pound poodle mix - has used Advantage all his life. Now I’m seeing ads for something called Advecta, which claims to have the same ingredients at half the price. That’s what it says on the box, anyway. Has anyone tried Advecta for their beasts? I’d like to hear what you think about it.

I used Advantage for my dogs for years but I was never quite satisfied with the results. I’ve tried other topicals, but not Advecta. There are a lot of customer reviews for Advectaon amazon.

Now I use a once-a-month chewable pill, NexGuard. All gone fleas. You do need a prescription from the vet, and it’s not cheap. (But my Sweetie-pop is worth it!) There are a lot of reviews at that link.

You do know that any thread having to do with pets requires a picture, don’t you?? :dubious: Well, where is it?

I’m using Revolution and it’s doing fine for me. I buy from PetsMegastore in Australia. Because I have 5 dogs, I buy the largest size available and dose it down for each dog. Revolution is a topical, and it’s good for fleas and heartworms, but doesn’t do anything for ticks. I try to start my flea meds before flea season, so the dogs have a loading dose before the flea explosion starts.

Good luck.

I don’t know if it’s the same stuff, but Walmart carries a generic version of advantix that is about half the price as the name brand and seems to work just fine.

If the ingredients are the same, and you are happy with Advantage, and it’s half the price of Advantage, why not buy as small a box as possible and try it? If it doesn’t work you’ll know soon enough by the relentless scratching…

I’ve been using Seresto collars for a few years now. Works great and there isn’t that greasy spot on the pooch.

When we have flea issues, I generally use Advantage. I might try Advecta next time to see if it works. Our flea problems are rare and mild, so we don’t use it year round.
