Anyone wanna see the shoes I just ordered?

I’m sorry. They are really good looking shoes, and I’m glad you are happy with them. Furthermore, I’m also sure that whatever I have to say about shoes is unlikely to temper that happiness. I wouldn’t have said it otherwise.

Shoes are a pretty notorious industry for having absurd markups based on sweatshop labor. None of us are saints, and frankly we all work hard and deserve our luxeries. But the only way we have to vote with in the business world is our dollars, and we are only fooling ourselves if we think our choices don’t have wide reaching effects on individual lives around the world. Maybe you are fine with sweatshops- plenty are- and thats for another place. But it’s something to think about when you make purchases, just like policies are important to think about when you vote.

Actually, I’m PRO sweatshop. I wish more things were made with slave labor. In fact, paying people even $1/day is too much, as far as I’m concerned. Who cares if they have families and whatnot. Totally not my issue.

Moving right along…

Holy crap! Now THOSE are boots. You wouldn’t even have to be a bad ass - you’d LOOK like so much of a bad ass, no one would bother you. Heh. Personally I’m looking for something in brown suede, medium heel, knee hight. While yours are hot, I’m not sure they would go with my new Benetton suit…

Forget it, even sven, it’s MPSIMStown.

Probably not. They do look pretty badass, especially with the all-black industrial look, but that means they’re pretty much limited to gaming conventions and industrial concerts. They are great for exercise, though, since they have to weigh at least five pounds each. Cooler than leg weights, plus when I get my legs into enough shape that I can wear them without noticing them, if I ever had to kick somebody they’d know they’d been kicked!

Heh. Yes they would. You probably wouldn’t even have to kick them - just show them the boot and alude to a kicking and they would run away like a little girl.

Both are cute, but I gotta tell ya…I had a pair of Harley boots a couple months ago and I had to send them back. They were too fuckin’ heavy. I felt exhausted after just a couple hours of dragging them around with me. I’m looking for the look without the weight. I imagine it will be a long, fruitless search.

I’d just like to thank all the ladies for showing off thier new shoes…

I do wish I could get my wife in a heels higher than an inch and a half, but she says she would break her silly neck. Oh well, she still wears cute shoes.

Wow! Those Vivienne Westwood pirate boots are super huge this season. I’m soooooooo envious.

I haven’t bought any shoes in like a month. :frowning: I’m really jonesing for these boots (I love the stacked heel and the ruching) but I’m worried they won’t fit my calves. I’m still waiting to see what fabulous shoes come out this fall…

I’ve got my eye on that very pair of boots, but in brown. I must have them. And not bad at $153.

I picture them with a short, flirty skirt and a fuzzy sweater.

I’m definitely thinking fall sweaters but maybe a knee length pencil skirt for work for me. I’m seeing a lot of boots worn with cropped pants or gauchos but I’m not really sold on that look. (I just can’t believe gauchos are back)

Those shoes are all very nice but I’d break my neck if my shoes had anything higher than a half inch heel.

I’m very klutzy.

Which is exactly why both of my two new pairs of boots have flat heels. I, too, am klutzy (plus I just don’t like high heels, at least not on me).

I just ordered them and they’re going FAST. I could only get the purple in my size. They had the brown in 7.5 but not 8, 8.5, or 9 (don’t know about the other sizes tho’). I hope I like the purple. The only other place I coudl find them was online at Nordstroms but they won’t have them in until the end of October.

I just got back from the mall where I bought a lot of fall clothes (at the gap: two of the exact same perfect skirt in both grey and black, a pair of black pants that fit perfectly and those new “curvy” fit jeans. I also got some cords at Old Navy and beaucoup underwear. Yay!) Jonesing for shoes so I ordered the boots above from Zappos, these retro heels from shoes.com (I’d seen the tapestry version at Nordstroms and fell in love with the shape and I had a $15 off coupon from Amazon- and these embroidered pumps (despite vowing to not buy anymore pointy toed stilettos, they’re just too pretty to pass up). I need to go ice down my debit card…

On an intirely different line of shoes, these are my favorite

I dont think the link worked try this instead

Cool shoes Ludy. The soles are real cute.

I’m with you.

I’m amazed that anyone buys shoes over the net. I have to try on anything I buy; the fit changes even if shoes say they’re the right size. Are you internet shoe shoppers blessed with standard sized feet or do you make lots of returns in case you don’t look as hot as the model?

I don’t know about other shoppers but I usually only buy brands I’ve tried on before. And my feet are pretty close to a standard 8.5 anyway so it’s not a big problem. Plus, Zappos (I looove Zappos) has free shipping and really easy free returns (you just print out a UPS label online and tape it to your box) with a generous return policy so it takes a lot of the stress out of buying online.
