Shoes!

Bought any great shoes lately? Or lusting after any? (I really just want to talk about shoes)

I just rewarded myself for spending the whole weekend sorting and donating stuff and bought 2 pairs of these in the black python and in a leopard pony with purple heel and ribbon. (I paid waaaay less than the link at DSW) But now I’m thinking they may too much for the office. I’m thinking about returning the leopard ones and getting these instead. I dunno, what do y’all think?

I also finally bought the John Fluvogs (these are wonderful office shoes) I’ve been coveting and I found the cheesy leopard slingbacks I’ve wanted all season on sale.

And I’m still lusting after these Irregular Choice heels and these heeled clogs. And I’ve been eyeing these pink heels forever but I think they’ll go down in price plus I keep swearing not to buy anymore pointy toed stillettos. To combat my pointy toed addiction, I’m considering these in black or in pink.

Sigh. There aren’t enough days in the week… Anyway, let’s see some Doper shoes.

These. Yeah, I know, definitely not what you would were expecting. I bought them this summer when I was taking my EMT classes and needed something to wear on my ride-alongs. I have my regular uniform boots now, but these are really comfortable, and I wear them with jeans a lot. I can also wear them on basic medical calls when I don’t wear my full gear.

I’m just not a high-heeled kinda girl.

Yeah, I’ve got an office job that involves sittin’ on my butt for most of the day so I can wear anything. When I had a standing job, I never wore heels.

Those look like they’ll last forever and be good to your feet. I need some steel toed boots for site visits and I really, really want these but they’re impossible to find in my size plus it’d probably be stupid to get boots that’ll make the construction guys take me less seriously…

Me, I just have one pair of shoes I wear daily–I call 'em my Indiana Jones shoes 'cause their brown and rugged looking and mostly 'cause I like to imagine myself battling cartoon Nazis and dodging booby traps while I’m sitting in three hour long meetings–but I definitely thnk you should go with the leopard ones. You know all the guys are talking about “that rock-n-roll girl with the crazy shoes” and it’s part of your unwritten job description to keep them entertained.

So far, I’ve purchased these (they come in green, but for some reason I can’t find a pic of them) and these in bronze and these in black.

I do need a pair of evening shoes for one of the holiday parties I’ll be attending next month. Nine West has (successfully) lured me back in with a new(ish) line of funky evening shoes and a $20 off coupon. I’ll let you know which ones I go with if this thread is still active when I purchase them. I’m thinking velvet. . .

I can’t wear high heels since I broke my foot a few years ago, but have been searching for a pair of black cowboy boots that weren’t outrageously expensive. I saw a pair going on sale on Black Friday, and actually braved the mall to get them! Beautiful black suede - perfect fit - and I got the last pair in my size!!

I’ve been a bit of a shoe (well, boot)-buyin’ fool the past couple of weeks. I bought:

These from Vivienne Westwood (yeah, they’re men’s, but the pirate boots are pretty much unisex). I’m wearing them today, and I love them! I have a women’s pair too that I bought a few months back, which aren’t quite as day-to-day durable, but really comfortable–like wearing a suede sock.

These at Nordstrom yesterday (they were on sale for $79.90!)

and these online because I tried them on at the local Track ‘n’ Trail and fell immediately in love with them (way comfy!) but they didn’t quite have my size at the store.

I would love to get me a pair of the red heels from the opening of Grey’s Anatomy. I love those shoes!
Today I am wearing all black, am I in mourning? No. Am I secretly wishing I was Johnny Cash? No. Am I feeling angsty? No. I am wearing these, in hot pink. And they stand out much better against black

I would also like to find a pair of pale pink Mary Jane heels with a scalloped edge.
Not to much to ask!

tremorviolet, I love those Fleuvogs, I keep borrowing my friend’s pair and should one day get my own.

Last month, as some of you may remember, I went out hunting for tall black boots to wear with skirts and came back with a delightful pair of short brown boots that I was advised against wearing with skirts (even though I did, and it looked okay - but I will never wear them with black pants again). They look like Disco Stu boots - 1" platform, 2" heel, big round toe.

I’m pleased to report that I have found myself a nice tall pair of black boots, 3" heel, almost up to my knees, PVC, chisel toe, very nice. Le Chateau outlet, $40. Yippee! They are making me consider exploring my dominatrix side. Now there’s a leather kilt at Northbound that I’m considering …

Do you buy all your shoes online? How can you always find these pictures? I’ve just spent ten minutes perusing “boots” on Google Images and come up with nothing, except now a song called “Boots and Saddles” is in my head.

I got some boots similar to these, except in leather, a couple of months ago, they were $25 on clearance.

I have my eye on these and hope Santa will bring them to me.

I’m madly in love with the Guess shoes, by the way, tremorviolet.

Argh! Hamsters ate my enormously long, link ladden post before I had a chance to copy it. I’ll have to reconstruct.

I loooove Vivienne Westwood and the pirate boots are fabulous. I also really like these shoes, althought they’d look awful on me (fat ankles). I scour ebay everyday to see if I can find some cool vintage Westwoods but they’re in short supply. I alos really love the Christian Louboutin for Roland Mouret covered platform pump. Sigh…

I’ve been leary of hopping on the wedge train 'cause I’m afraid I’ll be tired of them in a couple of months. But I love those boots. Iv’e been thinking about these RocketDog wedge clogs; they look like they’d be so comfy with jeans. I also like the boot version.

Thanks. I wish I could find a picture of the leopard ones online; they’re really stunning. (I feel like Gwen Stefani, my girl crush, in them) I’ve been kinda stressing over the work shoe issue lately. Because of stuff like Stranger’s well-meaning comment:

I gotta face up to being thirty-freakin’-eight and that what looked really cute on me as a 25-year old may not look good now. Plus, there is the whole “petite female in a conservative male-dominated workplace” and I worry about being taken seriously sometimes.

Oh, good lord, woman, as if I didn’t have enough reasons to love you, you have amazing taste in shoes. I want to go shopping with you and quite possibly buy you a Prada handbag.

I’ve been lusting after these Charles David wedges. I still have yet to find a good justification for that outlay of cash, though… (other than, “But I WAAAANT them!”)

I just ordered these a few days ago. I have no black casual shoes except a hideously uncomfortable pair I bought in a moment of insanity. I can’t palm them off on any of my relatives, either; they all have small or at least normal-sized feet. I bought the ones in the link because I couldn’t find a pair of women’s shoes that weren’t too high-heeled or too old for me. That pair is the closest I could find to what I wanted that didn’t cost a mint.

Those are some pretty shoes in those links. I especially like the Guess ones, but I couldn’t wear them. I can only do platforms, not heels, since I’m a big klutz, and pointy toes don’t work so well with me either. They’re really nice to look at, though.

I’ve been wearing sneakers every single day because that’s all I have right now, and that limits my wardrobe since they’re the only shoes I have that aren’t hidden in a box somewhere. I recently got a lot of “grown up” clothes (read: no more t-shirts and trackpants!) and couldn’t wear them till I got proper shoes. I wanted loafers, but no luck.

Damnit! I’m in love with all these shoes. Unfortunately, I’m working at home full time now and no longer have a reason to buy faaaabulous shoes. And I am ALL ABOUT THE HIGH HEELS! I’ll have to live vicariously through you. Sniff! I’m already missing the hunt!

Mmmmm…bondage boots! I loves 'em!

The last pair I purchased were work shoes here. At the same time I purchased fun shoes (yes they’re gaudy, sue me) found here

I love Steve Madden shoes but usually can’t find my size. I’m pretty excited because he’s starting a higher end line called Steven to add to what he already has. Love his shoes.

Ok, I’m inspired. I’m going to look around and report back

The Fluevogs are great. I’ve been wanting a pair but couldn’t justify the money. And then I was in Boston last month and saw the Fluevog store and decided to go for broke. The Fluevog slaesgirls are really, really nice and helpful.

I buy about half of my choes online. I’m pretty much standard 8 1/2 so shoes usually fit. I get the majority of them from zappos.com. They have amazing customer service and free returns plus the reviews are really helpful. And they have great categories; for example, here’s the boots page and all their category breakdowns. I also like Nordstroms, sometimes shoes.com, and, if I’m looking for a good price on a specific shoe, I check out Amazon who sometimes has really good deals. (I found these in pink for $25 at Amazon this summer.)

I fell madly in love with these boots recently. I tried them on, and it was like walking on clouds. And they looked fantastic. Unfortunately, they were close to $200, which is much more than I can afford. And with Montreal weather, I’d get to wear them for 2 weeks every fall, during that period where it’s cold enough for boots but not snowing yet. :frowning:

Now I’m looking for sensible winter boots and having no luck at all. I’ll have to get those furry hideous things that are in every store now, because nothing else is made so that I’ll have warm feet and won’t land on my butt when I step outside.

I am in love with Aerosoles and, happily for my feet but unhapply for my bank account, there is a store near my office. I have these in black and burgundy for the office, and these in three colors for walking to the office.
