Anyone want to sell a Wii cheap?

I’m looking to get a Wii, but not looking to spend a fortune. Don’t need anything too fancy, like a bunch of controllers and add-ons. Just the basics would be fine.

Anyway, if you have a Wii sitting around, let me know.

Go to GameStop on Black Friday, they’re selling pre-owned Wii systems for $70. After you factor in shipping and whatnot, no one here could do better than that price.

Walmart’s offering the $99.99 Wii in the “limited edition light blue” color for Black Friday. It comes with the system, one Wiimote (with Motion Plus) and a nunchuk. No info on whether or not they toss in a game with that. Though they are also selling Zelda Skyward Sword (with a fancy gold Wiimote) for $59.95.

(If you’d rather have a new one that comes with a warranty and all that.)

Frankly, you might be happier not buying a 6-year old system that’s probably on it’s last year of production anyway. The Wii U will be out in the next year or so. Zelda Skyward Sword is being hailed as the system’s “swan song”, meaning that the Wii is more or less on life support at this point. All the big production-value titles that Nintendo is working on will most likely wind up on the Wii U.

Check craigslist. The one for my city had hundreds of Wii systems for sale.

There’s no maybe about it, the Wii U is coming in late 2012. But the Wii still has one big title to come: Dragon Quest X.

Quite the opposite. I bought a Gamecube and PS2 after the release of the Wii and PS3. Got the Cube for $30 and the PS2 for quite cheap as well.

I don’t need current games and don’t mind waiting. In fact, I may wait until the Wii U comes out and get it for under $50.

Still, wouldn’t mind getting one.

Bear in mind that new Wiis don’t have Gamecube support any longer. The Mario Kart bundle was the last Wii that did. The Wiis in newer bundles won’t be able to play Gamecube games.

Untrue. Nintendo is selling both the GameCube-compatible bundle and the Wii game-only Wii bundle side-by-side.

Unfortunately, there should be at least three others: The Last Story, Xenoblade, and Pandora’s Tower. Thanks a lot, Nintendo of America…

Well, at the very least be aware there are two types of Wiis for sale at retail at the moment, and one kind is not Gamecube-compatible.

Personally, my prediction is that the Americas will go the same way Europe has… once the existing stock of GC-compatible Wiis sells out, they will be unavailable since Nintendo will cease to manufacture them.
