I’m watching it and it’s really good! Loved the show when it first ran and I still do!
I’m not watching it, but I have been watching to the old show on Netflix the last few years and writing review/recaps for it on my site. I’m just up to the point where Vicky Winters leaves.
For me, it’s like a bunch of those old-fashioned B-movies that copy the classic Universal monster-movie tropes–vampires and ghosts and mad scientists building Frankenstein-style creatures–all strung together. Instead of separate stories running about an hour and twenty minutes each, it just keeps going and going and one delightful, absurd piece of weirdness builds on another.
My favorite sections so far have been the Phoenix story-line about David Collins’s mother before Barnabas comes along, and the whole months-long flashback to the 1700s that shows how Barnabas became a vampire in the first place.
